  1. Concur. We have perfect seats to see that'un develop. Sometimes cheap seats are best.
  2. Well he already has a botch on a pitch, so Molitor probably vetoes.
  3. I'm not a Gene Glynn fan. One out, slow slow runner, go conservative.
  4. No, but he was at third base in Philly yesterday. And yes, he got a call over turned. #baseballroadtrip
  5. I'll take the over, because I don't want any regrets.
  6. We're in a no alcohol section of the seating. So naturally we are staring straight into an ad for Sam Adams. They are taunting us!
  7. At the game with ashburysteven. As far down the left field line as you can get without being on top of the Monster.
  8. DFA Grossman and send him to Rochester too.
  9. He's out of the game. I hope he's on a slow bus to Rochester. We'd be at worst tied, if he'd made the percentage play.
  10. I'm hearing enough of this at the game. I don't need to have the game thread be a road game too.
  11. The home crowd certainly enjoyed that brutal decision by Cave.
  12. I had the same thought. In fact I have liked his situational approach each time up. The strikeout looking wasn't pleasant, but that happens.
  13. It's not often you see an RBI credited on a double play grounder. Kudos to him for legging it out, though.
  14. ashburysteven's response: "not inaccurate."
  15. We complained to the ushers, and they reseated us behind home plate. Looks like the Royals are committed to the rebuild and have brought the kids up.
  16. Some nice local folks pointed us towards the alternative diamond for today's game. Unfortunately the inexpensive seats we had bought over the internet were slightly obstructed.
  17. PS, note to Chief and Carole: there is no 12th and Vine, and the shoe shop has been converted to a dollar store. This trip has been a bust.
  18. We arrived about an hour before the game, but the ballpark was closed and deserted. Leaving, disappointed.
  19. ashburysteven and I will be at today's game, but I don't think I have the technical chops to post anything to this thread while at the ballpark using just my phone. We're on a road trip taking us also to Cincy and Philly before reaching Boston for a couple more Twins games.
  20. Not relevant to anything, but the players held him in some esteem, right about that time. Or, at least, one player (SSS). I happened to be sitting next to a player during a game at the back fields at Spring Training a few years ago, and someone launched a homer. I wasn't sure, and asked, "was that Murphy?" "Yeah, he can hit," the unnamed player volunteered in typical understated style. So I made it a point to follow Max after that, and sure enough, he proved again the old saying that you just never know.
  21. I think he wants to play it that the guy admitted to a crime. I'm not sure what prosecutors do when someone confesses to a felony but no one presses charges and there's no corroborating evidence except the confession. I guess they have the latitude. But then when the person recants, saying, "I was making a joke, stupid," they've got nothing. I suppose in some nightmare scenario, a DA in a corrupt system goes out and finds someone to press false charges at that point. I hope that Cruz doesn't think he'd be doing God's work by participating in a horrifying scheme like that last scenario. But his eagerness to play this news for political gain indicates that he's willing to take that first step toward hell on earth.
  22. A nice three-game stretch for Ben Rortvedt, July 17-20. In 13 plate appearances against St Lucie and Lakeland, he got base hits 4 times, and supplemented that with 4 walks. No extra-base hits, but that still works out to a tasty 1.115 OPS. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5 (one with a sac fly) during this onslaught.
  23. I'm hesitant to call it a strength. Let's say, a glut of so-so candidates.
