  1. Yeah, I was at a bbq over the weekend with a bunch of younger programming types, and they were politely attentive as I regaled them about the days when a Megabyte was an unattainably large amount of memory and a Microsecond was a remarkably short amount of time. Then I pulled out my cellphone with the telescoping antenna, and really wowed them with the fact that the Old Days aren't truly gone for some.
  2. His name anagrams to: Dark and bonyAny band dorkAdd yarn knobOdd, barky NanNark no baddyDad born YankOK, brandy and .... ?I think this speaks for itself. (Actually, I did this investigative report based on the mistaken notion that "Randy Dobnak" HAD to be an anagram of SOMETHING else. It's not a real name. It's just not.)
  3. I wish I could be optimistic. They do have a lot of wins in the bank. But they are playing like a .500 team, and with any bad luck they'll be running on fumes or perhaps even just coasting in to the finish line. With 7 teams vying for 5 spots (I refuse to rule out Boston as yet), they need to do better than I'm forecasting. Low 90s in wins won't get the job done - mid-90s might prove iffy. This is a feast or famine league this year, and I'm not sure we're capable of loading up at the buffet.
  4. Welp. Good game, all in all. Tighten up those rocky starts, and we'd have something.
  5. I still think Adrianza looks like A-Rod's little cousin.
  6. And, as events have played out... May just blew the save, anyway. (I know, I know, we would have seen another chap in May's place...)
  7. And, for all the praise some are giving Littell for his work after that, if he could have done the job right at that moment, we'd have the lead going into the top of the 9th.
  8. The good news of that last out of the 8th is: if we are to win, it probably won't have to come down to Marwin in the 9th.
  9. We probably don't want to trade away Sano, do we?
  10. I am shocked Cederstrom didn't take the bat out of Sano's hands with that low outside pitch.
  11. Currently the team is first in the majors in slugging average, but sixth in on base percentage. Arraez does his part to bring a little balance. He'd be less valuable in a different lineup.
  12. Depending on the version, you can be the first moderator to serve out a ban.
  13. Mike "Float Like A Butterfly, Sting Like A Bee" Clevinger hasn't reached the rope-a-dope phase of his career yet. He's dancing on the mound like Ali and just straight up knocks our guys out.
