  1. Never mind - found it. Four and a half minutes. I'll sit tight and squeeze in my errand later. http://twinsdaily.com/content.php/3005-The-June-Free-Agent-Draft-is-just-around-the-corner
  2. This must have been mentioned somewhere and I've missed it: how long does each team have when it's their turn to pick? / I have an errand to run that can't be started until the draft starts and there's about a 90 minute window --- grrr --- so should I do the errand first or wait for the Twins pick and then go?
  3. I hope the Twins can do to Wile E. Peralta what the Roadrunner did to him.
  4. The best part about Jay is the nickname shown on his b-r.com page: The Federalist. A lot? Nonsense. I just fired up Out Of The Park 15 and got him for Florimon, Herrmann, Beresford, Ortiz... and of course Duensing.
  5. And a pitcher has about five times the impact in the game that he is in...
  6. With not a lot of prior thought and thus basing my views on the likely groupthink alluded to above, I'll list them this way: Aiken, Rodon, Kolek, Gordon, Jackson. Whichever one of these is left after the earlier picks, take him; if there's two, go in the order I listed (which might not be the order they actually go). Will be fun watching the process develop this afternoon.
  7. I'm just trying to understand the points to be made on both sides of the argument before making up my mind. The monopoly itself happened long ago when Al Gore used gubmint funding to invent the internet. Lots of good things have been nurtured by a public kickstart, and then privatization occurs at some point. What's the right path forward for this very important shared resource? "Change nothing" doesn't sound right to me. But (despite my attempt to provoke some actual discussion) I'm hardly in blind allegiance to the magic of the unfettered free market.

  9. So you're an athletic supporter?
  10. I'll give you one, for that.
  11. Yup. I'm guilty of trolling. Trolling for Physics majors.
  12. Say hello to Gibby while you and he are in exile.
  13. "If the sky turns yellow and you do not live on planet Venus..."
  14. OK, I was way late on that one, spending too much time working on the Carnac one for glunn's benefit, but with a couple of Likes I ain't deleting it!
  15. Just sign on the dotted line and move on, there's a line of other mortgage applicants behind you.
  16. You know what the Brewers have on their team? Lollygaggers!
  17. Carnac: Ex post facto. Ed: Ex post facto? Carnac: Are you retroactively prognosticating, or just echoing? Ed: I am merely basking in your wisdom, Your Magnificence. The envelope? Carnac: What do you get in the mail from your former wife's lawyer?
  18. That one goes right into my plagiar^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hquote file.
