    The As waived him in April. He hasn't suddenly become someone they will give up much to get back. And IMO we kind of need him to limp through the rest of the season in CF, moreso than a prospect whose upside is utility infielder or bullpen member.

    That's why I view it as a priority.

    In terms of major league performance there is no urgency, but when considering the stewardship of team resources I believe the urgency is high. Duensing could be a prime non-tender candidate this off-season, so if you get nothing for him now, you may get nothing at all. 40-man issues plague this team and whatever is the best non-Rule-5-eligible prospect that can be obtained should be accepted ASAP.

    That's a very good point. But I am skeptical that Ryan can extract much in return for the two-month rental, even from a team in dire need. They'll prefer to muddle through with someone they can obtain for next to nothing, rather than give up anything who projects higher than a utility player; prospects are so highly valued these days. Still got my fingers crossed that Ryan can work some magic.

    Sign and trade, so the acquiring team has some assurance as to what they are getting, and are willing to offer more in trade than if it's a 2 month rental?

    I turned attention away, and come back to find that there was a 3-run rally in the 9th. Thanks Rally Cake! That should've turned the 4-2 deficit into a winner, right? Why is the game still going?

    My first MLB game was the Pirates at the Giants in 1966. I remember almost nothing of it, except that it was overly hot and I was overly bored. My brother and I tried sharing reminiscences of it a few years ago, and he had all sorts of specific details and all I could remember was needing more than just the one watery lemonade.

    A homer, a fly out to center, and two strikeouts swinging, for the top of the fifth. Pretty much in keeping with my reading of the PBP of the full game on espn.com. Cleveland came into this game looking to tee off on a AAA pitcher. A pity we chose to supply them with one.
