  1. An amazing statistic for anyone who dons the tools of ignorance, I would think.
  2. KC's team BA of .310 nearly qualifies.
  3. Early season that's certainly true. After about this point, though, if a guy is working on a shutout, he often (not always) is allowed to keep trying, unless the pitch count has gone past 110 or so. CG shutouts do exist. Guys like Kershaw get the chance anytime they are in the neighborhood of one. Which again circles back to the relationship of CGs (shutout or otherwise) and aces; it's as much a sign of the respect of the manager as anything else.
  4. JJ's injury is confirmed in this article: http://www.milb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20150420&content_id=119382472&fext=.jsp&vkey=pr_t492&sid=t492 Concussion, 7-day DL after getting nicked by a batter's follow-through. Ugh, there's a lot of that going around - he and Pinto have something to commiserate about.
  5. Any team whose success hinges on having both Eduardo Escobar's and Danny Santana's bats in the lineup at the same time is seriously flawed.
  6. Unless a guy pitches a complete game shutout every once in a while, if only just to show off, I have trouble thinking of him as an ace. I realize CGs are not the norm anymore; that's kind of my point about aces, then. Just once in a while, maybe by accident when on the road at a pitcher's park, is all I ask.
  7. The beard's OK, but Mauer's got to go.
  8. Oh. Well, then the prize I conferred was double-sarcasm and triple-pessimism.
  9. And this wins some kind of prize for positive thinking. "There must be a pony in this pile somewhere..."
  10. That went well. G'night all.
  11. All right, against my better judgement. For the ninth: Ew. Ish. Ick. Ew.
  12. Stauffer gives up a long fly to Right which Torii doesn't get to. Whose Bingo card just got filled up?
  13. For this one song, Turtles > Zimmerman. I recognize that you disagree.
  14. "Schafer sprinting in and... doesn't make the play." As Expected.
  15. Halsey, you been watching these plays Plouffe has been making for us?
  16. Stinky, stinky, stinky cheese. And you just have to keep accepting what the waiter brings you.
  17. BTW the judges would also have accepted: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXCqDbCQVdw Ah no no no no no no no.
  18. That's some serious cheese Herrera is delivering.
  19. Pretty much. It's a small world, after all.
  20. No. No. Nononononononononononononononono. No.
  21. When in Boston I always make sure to get scrod.
  22. I'm so glad Boyer's got that new changeup.
  23. Poutine, or something at Tim Horton's.
