    Would that be a player request (player can pitch/not injured anymote but no room on roster OR player retiring) or would/can a team release a player on the injured list against his will (would they have to pay him??)Curious how some of the player transacations in minors are different than majors

Currently tied w/Sano for 2nd in FSL w/41 RBI to Dustin Geiger's 43 Tied 2nd w/10HR (Sano w/13) 2nd in FSL in slugg w/.541 (only 8 total above .500 in notorious pitchers lg...Rosario.503/Sano .647) 4th in OPS w/.903 (Sano 1.094) 26 gms in May .318/.418/.648 in 88ABs

    With Baxendale in AA, they have 6 starters & BJ Hermsen gets demoted to the pen & takes the lead as the pitching equilivant of Joe Benson after being the organizational pitcher of the year. Vargas' power numbers are SO impressive...he needs to be promoted to New Brit along with Morales/Rosario/Sano ASAP.

    If Hermann is the choice as 3rd C since he can also play OF.....tell me again why MN didnt DFA Butera instead of Benson??

    Now slugging .477 thru Wed's game....tied for 2nd on team w/ Plouffe behind Mauer's .568. Are you more intersted in his BAve (.205) or his power (4doubles triples, 6HR)

    Clete Thomas does nothing for anyone & followers know his AAA numbers are a fraud. Antoans AAA numbers in 2 wks mirror his longtime AA numbers & isn't a longterm solution but is more deserving of the shot

    Then dont DFA him....just release him. They were hoping he would pass thru. There is ZERO chance this was done to benefit Benson

    Almost too humorous to laugh about. Plouffe was diagnosed with concussion, but passed his test a couple days later. Wonder if he'll be activated WED @ home & Hermann goes back.

    Hermann didnt 'earn' it by any means, but this is probably a 2 or 3 day thing till Plouffe is back. Hermann is a better than average OF who played 11 gms in CF in 2011, so thats an option in a pinch. Mainly, its to allow Doumit to PH without Gardy losing his mind about losing his C. He will probably not even see game time as the emergency 3rd string C

    Interesting as todays Star Tribune says the Twins announced it was NOT a concussion but a jaw injury. Guess you change the injury status when you need to. During todays game, Dick/Roy hinted strongly that MN may switch out a P for a position player for the MIL series. Immediately thought of Hermann as it allows Doumit to actually be used as PH without Gardy's fear of losing a C (altho an in-game injury to a C hasnt happenned to MN since 06---Mike Redmond in KC). Wonder if there is another (Clete Thomas??) as Chris Parmellee is the backup CF now. However, with Arcia's AAA injury today (shoulder)....ROC doesnt have the players to keep a roster themselves.

    Bad influence on Arcia??? Never heard a word EVER about Benson in that regard. As far as Twins not bein high on Benson, Ive been saying that for past 2 yrs....back to his solid AA yr in 11. Didnt just happen last night. Im not even saying Benson didnt earn this......he did BUT Butera was a FAR better option as he woulda cleared waivers & they could still keep him. Arcia was also hurt today (dont know how serious), bet they would like to have Benson back now as they are very short on OFs currently since they wont promote for a couple wks.

    bloop singles count. If they dont, then admit Mauer would hit .275. If Thielbar doesnt give up a double, its still 3runs in 5.2IP....NOT good enough by anyones standards. I also have a huge problem with Twins homers....whomever they are.

    No question that Hicks needs some AAA time, but I would prefer Richardson over Clete Thomas but that's nitpicking on some wash-outs. Problem is whomever it is, MN will lose another player off the 40 man roster (unless its Drew exposed as he wont be claimed). Cant keep giving away minor league players for no reason other than bad management. Arcia was also hurt (right shoulder) & taken out of todays game.....yikes

    If you have a history of pitching well, then a day like Pefrey's today can be argued. However, when this is the norm......its not even close. Too bad that Twins fans expectations of starting pitching has lowered SO much the past 3 yrs that the on air crew feels a need to defend him

    For me, its not the actual move of Benson that bothers me....he's been bad. Its not putting an injured guy like Butera thru waivers as NO team is gonna take him, injured or not. If he clears, you keep Benson also but the organization had given up on Benson & put him thru since they knew he would be claimed. They had never been huge backers of Joe's IMO.
