    Dont think Plouffe will ever see significant time at SS ever again. Still pretty choppy @ 3B, but its his first extended time there. 2B could be an option tho. Dont expect Danny to explode tho....doesnt happen after 2 lackluster yrs very often

    102 pitches is high point for Diamond this yr (5 of 14 over 100)....will gardy pull him at 100 pitches with either a no hitter, or a shutout, or a chance to not use the pen????

    No complaining about Diamond but...... are people goin overboard with 'he's the ace' talk & a guarranteed spot next spring?? First 7 starts 5W 1L 44.2IP 49h .277BAA 1.61ERA .407slgg 28k 4bb Next 7 starts 3W 3L 46.1IP 51h .283BAA 4.66ERA .417slgg 22k 11bb Numbers are similar except ERA in 7 gm increments.....which one is more likely to be seen?? Ive always seen him as a 4/5 starter max......are expectations too high for him?

    Not a Danny hater at all but most of the 'hatred' towards him is that he has done NOTHING at ROC to warrant a re-promotion while guys like Parmellee/Hendriks went down & dominated (showing they can be major league players). Valencia does hit lefties well & may have a future as a platoon backup corner infielder but he's never gonna be a starter again. Too bad cause he once had some promise but nobody in the organization loves Danny as much as Danny does!!!

    Segura definaely a plus ..... Hellweg has massive control problems & is fringe IMO but Pena has been outstanding in AA & is the 2nd piece that'll be a major league starter

    there have also been a plethora of other 19 yr olds to spend the entire year in Low A from start. No question that a #2 pick should be one of em. Sure is showing the Twins that he should with his play. Very happy & yes that would be a massive Beloit OF, but where does Romy Jimenez fit into that OF. Leads the App Lg in almost everything. Someone will need to make a jump, but having 4 guys makes me leary MN would keep Buxton out till June

    I agree. They allowed Sano to be in Beloit at 19....Buxton should absolutely be there next yr. Hicks & Revere spent their 19 yr old seasons in Beloit also, so that should be where he ends up. Cant imagine how strong ELIZ would be with him also, but they may need to promote an OF to get a spot. Didnt think about the lights, but thats a big adjustment also.

    I agree with ya but.....college first rounders this year Mike Zunino, taken 3rd by SEA, is 21 & playing the short season Northwest Lg & tearin it up Tyler Naquin, taken 14th, is 21 & playin short season NY Penn Lg (.288BAve .808OPS) James Ramsey, taken 23rd by St Lou, is 22, playing in Florida St Lg....hitting .267 w/ .738OPS Devin Marrero, 24th by BOS, is 21 & playing in short season NY Penn Lg & doin ok (.286BAve/.766OPS) Richie Schaeffer, 25 overall by SEA, is 21 playin Ny Penn Lg....2 gms only Victor Roarche, taken 28th by MIL, is 21 Sept 17th & is DLd....hasnt played yet Brian Johnson, taken 31st by BOS, is 21 & hasnt played yet Is there a difference in age/short season leagues than this years first rounders???

    Formerly Romy Trinidad, this 21 yr old OF has been tearing up the APP Lg to little fanfare from us. Signed as an undrafted 17 yr old out of Dominican, the righthanded hitting OF spent the next 2 yrs in the DSL & last yr in GCL. In those 3 yrs, he has only gotten 308ABs (28 last yr).....is this the reason he is still in ELIZ @ 21?? He is currently the league leader (thru July 26) in BAve (.370), Slgg (.670), RBI (33), 2nd in OBP (.448) TBases (67) & doubles (10), 3rd in runs (26), 6th in HR (6), hits (37) So is Romy just a flash in the pan due to APP Lg hitting prowess or is he a legit late blooming prospect?? If he was a collegiate, this woulda been the summer he was drafted & if we drafted him in June.....would he be thought of differently

    will be interesting to see where Gibson ranks nationally. He was 61st in 2010, 34th in 2011, unranked this yr.....but others havent dropped that far when havin TJ. OAKs Jarrod Parker was 29th in 09, had TJ in 10 but was ranked 26th & in 11, he was still 33rd despite not pitching at all the year prior. He was 26th entering this yr. Kyle is 2 yrs older & that counts but they were closely ranked.

    While most of us have acknowledged that the Red Wings roster is full of junk & less than has beens......new manager Gene Glynn has gotten this unit to play unbelievably well. They are 52-54 as of July 26th but 38-31 since May 9th. 15-14 in June & 15-9 in July....how??? Manager of the year for Glynn in AAA. Players playing 'well'? Clete Thomas...since June 1....51gms 178ABs .241 but .483slgg w/9hr 23rbi Brian Dinkelman....since June 1 reactivation....34gms 110ABs .291/.344/.436 2hr 13rbi Nishi....since June 1....50gms 190ABs .274BAve 16rbi Chris Parmelle 31gms .327/.463/.570 6hr 22rbi 21runs Guys like Burroughs, Valencia, Florimon, Ramirez havent really done anything. How have they won. Definately Liam Hendriks domination with a solid Jeff Manship/Sam Deduno bein solid, as has a pretty good bullpen. Is there something other than smoke & mirrors that Glynn has done to turn this collection into a reasonable team?? Great managerial job IMO, cant wait to see what he does with Arcia, Hicks, Romero, Benson (again), Herrmann, Pugh, Hermsen, etc next yr.

    whatever the order, is this the best 5 prospects MN has had in years??? This also includes Joe Benson not having any shot in the top 5, but was recently rated 99th best prospect by MLB entering the yr. Are we gonna have to deal one/more of these guys for pitching tho??

    Paul Molitor was on radio today talkin minor leagues. Says Arcia still has major holes in his swing on breakin pitches & is over a yr away from bein ready. Surprised by this but still will be stunned if hes not a Sept callup. Says Hicks is much closer to bein MLB ready which surprises me as Molly is known to be reluctant to praise younger players....reason he no longer coaches fulltime. BJ Hermsen is toppin out @ 86mph but gets guys out.

    First off, dont have a problem with signing Hurley....one time big prospect who was pitching in hitter friendly PCL. However, I do think some of the NewBrit guys shoulda been considered. Steve Hirchfield has a 2.90 ERA, good for 5th in Eastern Lg. I understand he has a 7+ ERA in ROC but he's also didnt give up an ER in 2 of his 6 starts. If you're not gonna promote someone with this success....what's the point of havin him?? BJHermsen is 10th in ERA w/3.38...right behing phenom Zack Wheelers 3.29. Have no problem keeping him in AA, but he is up for 40 man roster this winter & will be protected....has been excellent this yr & is the organizations pitcher of the year. These 2 should be in the discusion FOR SURE. Blake Martin has been tollerable, Logan Darnell is 9th in IP in Lg & is at least a workhorse of sorts & Aaron Thompson is a joke but is a starter. Dave Bromberg isnt even starting in AA & he was NOT bad in AAA....2 starts 8.1IP cannot form an opinion yet but he was very good in AAA 2 yrs ago!!!! He should be starting no doubt, just threw a 6 inning shutout. Now he cannot crack the AA staff???? move him up!!! Just saying this is an organization that treats its own players badly, as Cole DeVries was kept in bullpen for all of 10/11 behind Andrew Baldwin & Eric Hacker types & once he got a shot......became the Twins best RHP this year but didnt get a shot to start for 2 yrs.!!!

    Baseball America had Grossman 8th, Cain 13th & Owens 16th coming into thes season. Our equilivant woulda been Kyle Gibson 8th, Corey Williams 13th & Adrian Salcedo 16th
