  1. July 20gms 79ABs .392/.437/582 4doubles triple 3HR 10rbi
  2. Albers began his rehab with GCL today goin 2 innings 1h 2k
  3. promoted to ELIZ & pitched a scoreless innings 1h 1bb 2K in his debut
  4. Ray is only month older than Hicks & 2months older than Morales.....still very young Had his best month in Ft Myers 21gms 72AB .292/.363/.431 3HR 18RBI 13k 7bb Leads the Miracle in RBI with his 51
  5. Bob Wells.....where are you
  6. Dont think its a bad thing to waste 2 yrs with recovery rather than 1 year???If would be different if UCL rehab worked for ANYONE .....they all end up with the surgery, why prolong it
  7. Buxton to ELIZ, Keplar to Beloit, Roberts to Ft Myers, Ray to New Brit, Benson to ROC.....is there any team in the organization that would be worse off if the avalanche of OF promotions happenned
  8. I agree 100% with ya that nobody should be taken too seriously till they get to at least Beloit, wouldnt say past tho.Walker is also only 20 this entire yr, so he's not an old college player....that I love. Like him more as he's a 3rd round pick, not a double digit pick guy dominating Better to put up huge numbers in ELIZ than not.
  9. Sam Deduno & Luis Perdomo Id guessof course, Drew Butera cause there is nothing Drew cannot do
  10. drjim So if you are a fan, how do YOU anyalyze defense if you dont count errors, UZR, fielding percentage............curious
  11. lookin up players who intended to rehab over surgery, I found Juan Carlos Oviedo of MIA & Neftali Perez of TEX. Problem is that both just hurt/reinjured themselves in the past couple wks. Only other pitcher who shows up for rehab over surgery is Alex Wimmers!!! The list of players who quickly decided to have the surgery to get back next year was huge. Brandon Beachy Kyle Drabek Daniel Hudson Jose Contreras Joakin Soria Danny Duffy Charly Morton Tyshiosi Wade Todd Coffey Brian Wilson Ryan Madsen Scot Baker Cory Leubke Mike Pelphrey Aroldys Vizcaino.....tried rehab in 2010 among others
  12. Cant just look at the rankings in any given year but over several years. Depends on age/level played/previous rankings/injuries & more factors.Escobar was Sox 5th best prospect entering 2011 season. 19th entering 2010. Anyone find it amusing that Escobar was a key backup for the first place team in CHI but gets sent to AAA for the last place team in MN. Teams view players differently but MNs views a player CHI liked fairly low if he cant make this roster today. Just think how low we would send 20yr old Mike Trout if we acquired him......Beloit???
  13. dont think anyone can trend the numbers into anything positive about short season ball. Matt Summers, BJ Hermsen & Liam Hendriks are about it
  14. I am a huge believer of UZR. Hate judging defensive players by errors as official scoring is horrendous league wide. Also hate listening to announcers continually saying a guy is an excellent defender when the numbers tell a different story. Some unfortunately judge a guy by the great highlight type plays also....doesnt show the plays he should have made that wasnt ruled an error. UZR may not be perfect, but its better than goin on reputation/other numbers available
  15. Liriano has 'ace type stuff'
  16. Morales is finishing his 3rd yr (one partial, one injury riddled) yr in High A & still hasnt shown he can handle that level. 194gms 667ABs .241/.318/.334 89r 19doubles 4triples 18HR 47RBI 18/25sb 117k 38bb As he's a FA, & 4 outstanding OFs coming up from ELIZ/GCL to Beloit....Ft Myers may have to be an option for him as a backup who plays more if he contributes, but no guarrantees. MiLB rates him as 9th best MN prospect....but thats got to be about over
  17. When promoted to FtMyers...he had 19 gm 18 st 109IP 103h .249BAA 3.55ERA (2.84 after first 5gm 4st) 71k 34bb First 3 starts for Miracle....all went 5IP....so 15IP 19h .310BAA 3.60ERA 9l 6bb Best guess is that with 124IP, the Twins will monitor his innings over Aug to keep him around 150IP (5 more starts of 5IP w/30gms left??)
  18. He's not too old for the Florida St Lg at.....he's only 23 but at that age/2 yrs in the league with success, you'ld hope he could get a promotion. However, his promotion is blocked by Chris Herrmann in AA, who is blocked in AAA by Rene Rivera/Danny Lehman....errrr wait, maybe not.
  19. Adam Walker went 3-5 w/HR 4rbi. Now slugging .500 & is 3rd in App Lg in HRs (8) & RBI (32...behind teammates Romy Jimmenez/Max Keplar). Soon to be a very top prospect IMO.....possibly 2nd to Sano in power potential currently.
  20. Summers went only 5IP again in his 3rd Ft Myers start....think they are winding him down innings wise already
  21. my fault....knew that didnt sound right
  22. I dont believe anyone in the Twins organization understands what a UZR is...........
  23. Definately got away from what I originally intended to be the main point & that is ...... only 10 players in 10yrs made their debut during the crux of the season (APR-AUG). While its definate that MN was contending & didnt want to deal with younger players, that is incredibly low to me. We will see in the next few yrs if that changes as Hicks/Arcia/Sano/Buxton/Rosaio/Berrios/Boyd/Harrison etc get ready to make their debuts, but its 'not the Twins Way'.
  24. Colby Lewis is about to have flexor tendon surgery & is out 9-12months so he's out Isnt Rich Harden retired?? Here's a name I mentioned last week & I honestly think its gonna happen.....Jeremey Guthrie...my arguement.... Will be 34 next yr & would easily take a 2 yr deal. Rough year, but had a 3.67 road ERA w/COL before bein dealt to KC Always pitched well vs MN before last SUN.....8gm 2.70ERA Career w/ BALT (hitters park) 4.12ERA & .264BAA 92.7mph fastball this yr is equal to his career average Good control 2/1 K/bb.... all Twins type of pitcher
  25. but we're not anymore....we're somewhere between 9-12ish this year in salaries....which is still on the upside of mid market. Salary is always important, but its not THE reason to make excuses anymoe.
