  1. Based on what? C'mon I appreciate your enthusiasm for Rosario and I am excited about him too but we're talking about a player who might not even see AA this year. What MLB team would be starting him in CF right now?
  2. I can't quite believe this is still a talking point 43 posts in, he wasn't even an actual ST invitee, that's how far off the radar he is for the big club right now.
  3. Where? Do you have any examples? I'm on this site pretty regularly and honestly have no idea what you're referring to.
  4. But that's never been the goal for this FO, don't you remember? http://freesmileyface.net/smiley/winks/b-wink.gif
  5. Seriously, what do you expect him to say? He's entitled to maintain a positive outlook and as the senior executive you would expect nothing less. St. Peter will leave the realism to the critics, his job is to make sure the sun shines every day. It scares me a little to think that the FO could believe this team is good enough, the trades with Span and Revere and the bizarre reluctance to sign a decent pitcher to a one or two year deal lead me to believe otherwise though. It's their way of saying "it's about the future". The real indication to me however will be based on what they end up doing with Willingham and Morneau.
  6. It will be August and then September, meaning they will be playing games
  7. Eddie Rosario goes deep......nice! 2 run shot
  8. A little presumptuous he'll be around Opening day.

  10. Fundamentals! It's all about fundamentals!
  11. Yeah all that warm weather must have been very hard on you..........................http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQcO52ojXLMbPZkPCsQM1CAqUFR0OK88H1wOiC1BGuXf3I7bpYN
  12. You're tempting me but I'm not biting, I don't need Glunn upset with me.
  13. You're walking a fine line on that conduct policy.......careful.
  14. I know what you mean, that was him last year. I'd half to say though that from about the last 3rd of last year right through every game this year he's shown up. He's using his speed and size and is a threat almost every time he's on the ice, needs to drive the net more however.
  15. Well, he said himself it would be pretty cool, seeing as they were his favourite team growing up and unlike the Seattle-NY comparison, there is no MLB team in BC. I see it the other way around, not sure why a lot of people think the Jays would be interested in Morneau just because he's Canadian, good player, sure, place of birth, not so much.
  16. I also believe Escobar is far more interesting at SS than Florimon and will ultimately see more time there, with Carroll splitting his duties between there and 2B. Not that I think Escobar is an everyday player but weighing the options the team has now, he just might be the better candidate and cold serve as a more useful utility player down the road, as others have stated. I'm not sure Carroll is even out to prove he is more than a utility player, at 39 and still playing in the majors, I don't think he really has anything to prove, I'm pretty sure he understands hi role.
  17. Let's keep this in perspective, the Jays are not going to make a deal for Morneau based on him being Canadian. If he's playing well and he fills a need then (which it is right now but may not be by the deadline) I'm sure he will be one of a few players they may consider, sentiment will be far down the list of reasons to get him. As a Canadian myself, Morneau playing for the Jays means nothing , I'd far rather see him as a Twin......Lawrie too for tha matter.
  18. I'm sure that means a lot to them and their fans, I know I always remember the teams that finished 3rd the most.
  19. I think crabshooting is illegal in the state of Minnesota. http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS5i775bAKVqID_NT3Isy67mbz5ymqs7SWJrfZ3aN_TDnmXD3cq
  20. I agree, the potential upside is worth more than what we already know we have in Burnett and Swarzak.
  21. I don't think it falls on him either way, the players play the game, the manager fills out the lineup card, makes a few in game decisions and generally keeps the inmates from running the asylum. He gets too much credit and blame at the same time, another manager could have easily accomplished what Gardy did, no different than when TK was here, by the same token I don't think another manager could have polished the last 2 years of turds into anything more than what they were. A new voice, the perception of what change could represent, good for the fans, I don't think it changes the play on the field all that much.
  22. Clearly decided they had gone far enough.
