  1. Oh I agree entirely, any HOF is to be taken with a grain of salt, especially ones with completely subjective criteria. The Small Faces are just another in a long line of overlooked British bands. I do like The Eagles though.
  2. Brave New World was one of my most listened to albums for a long time, Millers earlier work is pretty much the only stuff from him I listen to. So many overlooked though, completely agree with Chicago and The Doobies for sure. How about Deep Purple? How is it possible that the band who's song is the first song learned by every aspiring 13 year old guitar player is overlooked? Rush Jethro Tull (c'mon, they used a flute!) SRV How is Metallica in the HOF and not Judas Priest or Iron Maiden? The Guess Who Motorhead Cheap Trick (who doesn't own Live at Budokan) Dire Straits Bad Company (and Free, King Crimson and Mott The Hoople) Steppenwolf SuperTramp John Mayall (your welcome Eric Clapton) Paul Butterfield Blues Band (if Miller should get in based on his early work so should Butterfield and Bloomfield) Just scratching the surface, so many, so little time.
  3. Or the Bell quartet of Gus, Buddy, Dave and Mike.
  4. I certainly don't have an issue signing guys like this to minor league deals, what I do have an issue with is the seemingly implicit agreement that they will get their shot with the big club, no matter what their performance. What kind of message does that send? I'll give them a pass on Kubel because he wasn't too far removed from being productive, they let it ride for too long however.
  5. Not so sure Doc, although a least some moves this year have been made more quickly than in the past. The Twins MO has been to stick with veterans who at least display passable mediocrity, Bartlett and Kubel were awful even by awful standards and Florimon clearly had no business holding a bat in the majors.
  6. Just watched the replay, pleasantly surprised by Swarzie, just as long as his spot start doesn't give them any bright ideas, like Duensing.
  7. I'll get back to you, I'm still reading, but I only started 4 1/2 hours ago . Good stuff Doc.
  8. While it's a little odd the Gangster of Love has yet to be enshrined in the RRHOF with his top 40 radio friendly ditties, he is nowhere near the front of the bus when it comes to deserving snubs.
  9. Better late than never, nothing against Guerrier, I liked him in his first go round but his return just seemed like a big waste of time for everyone .
  10. So much for this season feeling better......
  11. I want to be on record as turning the game off the second Guerrier set foot on the field
  12. Not sure the number, sure it's held by a Twins team.
  13. Ummm, what's so funny, it's a cake.
  14. Little early for the rally cake, the Twins have more falling behind to do first.
  15. I'm not suggesting Ryan should make a move based solely on what Anthopolous has done, and perhaps you're right in that he's nervous about his job, although I don't think he'll lose it. I don't really see how bringing Meyer and May up sooner hurts their long term development, if both of them are on an innings limit then the Twins would be well served to use the majority of those innings with the big league team to help them assess where they need to be by next spring.
  16. They go by the alphabet when they get to the M's.
  17. Blue Jays calling up the 22 year old from Buffalo with a 4.39 and 1.54 WHIP in 34 1/3 innings. He had a 3.82 and 1.39 WHIP in 66 innings in AA. Great k/9 but walks have been an issue, he's going to be pitching from the pen. The Jays now have their top 2 pitching prospects up with the big league team, both under the age of 24. Sure would be nice if the Twins had a couple of guys to do this with...........................oh,wait.
  18. Maybe 5 Hr's.......if we're lucky.
  19. Put me in this camp, I don't expect much but if it opens up spots for some fresh faces I'm happy.
  20. Nooooooooo!!!!!!!! I'm going to the game on Aug. 2!! Please be Trevor May, please be Trevor May.
