  1. That was a hell of an AB by Mauer.
  2. Maple Syrup, lots of really good maple syrup.
  3. Goat of the Night. You're the early leader by mentioning the no hitter through two, thus guaranteeing it's your fault when the Twins lose.
  4. One of the earliest GOTN candidates we've had in awhile.
  5. They can have Quebec, but they have to learn how to make Poutine.
  6. Equal in hate to Syria and Iran, probably not. Israel's treatment of Palestinians is deplorable and reprehensible, I'm a strong advocate of an independent Palestinian state but I think Israel's behaviour falls short of genocide in some key areas.
  7. Providing tissue from aborted fetuses is an incredibly useful and beneficial tool in understanding human cell biology. It has played a vital role in the development of vaccines as well as research into genetic disorders and cancer, amongst others. Your statement makes it sound like this is some kind of new thing.
  8. What's the rush? If he puts up another season like this (presuming his 2nd half goes similar to the first), then there is plenty of time and savings to be had.
  9. I like Dozier in the 2 hole, if Hicks keeps things up the way he has for another month it might be worth considering him at leadoff again, even if it's only until Buxton is ready, which I don't think will be this season. There are way more good reasons than not for Dozier batting 2nd, and no, none of them should involve bunting. Nothing wrong with Mauer at 3 if he keeps hitting the way he has of late.
  10. Agreed, that's what I was referring to with their obstinacy and over aggression.
  11. Yeah, they could be less obstinate, as well as less pro-active and ruthless in their aggression at times, but being surrounded by countries whose end goal it is to obliterate you from the face of the earth is not something I feel qualified to fully understand or appreciate.
  12. Yeah, although I think they had a pretty big "unfrozen" slush fund for that already.
  13. Whose? Russia's or Iran's? One in the same so you must mean Russia. What makes you say that?
  14. They have a gazillion barrels of oil floating around the Persian Gulf with no place to go and their refinery infrastructure is in desperate need of foreign investment to help rebuild. This is mainly why I find Russia's compliance with this a bit odd, they have the most to lose when it comes to increased oil and gas competition in Europe.
  15. I think 4-5 but would be happy with 5-4.
  16. Well I don't think either country is going to be launching a nuclear attack and I agree they have more to gain from an agreement than NK , but I think the belief that pushback from the populace in the face of any reneging is of any concern to the government is wrong. Russia's support of this is curious as economically they seemingly have much to lose.
  17. If he wants to eat, then he knows what's good for him.
  18. Meh, for all Hamilton's speedy ways he only ended up with one more run plated than Dozier that series. He has more SB's than runs scored, so if his team can't hit behind him it doesn't do a whole lot of good.
  19. Israel pretty much united in their opposition to the deal, not just the Hawks. Comes down to simply not trusting anything Iran says or does really, which I have to say i understand. North Korea also agreed to similar conditions years ago and we all know how that turned out.
  20. Heading down for the Mariners series and will now officially be buying me a Dozier jersey.........and likely my 9 year old son one as well.
  21. Unless that's the Death Star on the left and it's about to obliterate planet Trump.
  22. I'm no defender of Netanyahu but what leftist parties still exist in Israel that have a credible view on security? The left dominated Israeli politics for years but also had their fair share of Hawks, Ehud Barak being the most recent. Security has always been the central theme in Israeli politics, it's certainly not based on a misguided belief. How they deal with threats on security and how they work towards long term solutions on them is another story.
