  1. With his little use lately, I forgot he was on the roster.
  2. I think they need to see him pitch on back to back even days of the week before they will call him up.
  3. He needs to cut down his K/9 rate and learn to pitch to contact.
  4. Here is a sneak peak of today's BP session. https://vine.co/v/iX1LuQvAZZa
  5. Better tell that to the Royals. Wasn't it ESPN that reported at the WS two years ago that the food moldy and the concessions didn't pass inspection standards.
  6. Arcia is going to get every chance to this spring. I would put his percentage at 90% to head north. The bigger question would be what are the percentage he will be on the team on June 1.
  7. I hope Sano plays the OF today so there will be a thread or two about the topic. Oh wait....
  8. Any idea on what Clippard is said to be asking? I know he is not left handed but he would be a nice addition to the pen especially if it was in place of Fein. I wouldn't mind a look at O'Flarety (sp) either on a bounce back. I liked him when he was in Atlanta.
  9. With his numbers trending downward for the past couple seasons, I can't see how he will get in. He is in the Hall Of Very Good, but not Hall Of Fame. It is sad too because he was on track to get there. 3 Batting Titles, 1 MVP was a great start. As others have stated, injuries slowed down his career and the transition to 1B hasn't helped him.
  10. My favorite autograph story comes from my dad. When he was little, my grandparents took him to Milwaukee to see the Braves play. That was back before the Twins came to Minnesota. He was a young boy with a handful of baseball cards (Aaron, Spahn, Matthews among others) waiting outside the clubhouse to get autographs. They waited awhile before someone came out. The first person to come out was Bob Uecker. Uecker was a rookie at the time. He was signing all sorts of items but when he came to my dad, my dad was a little embarrassed. Dad didn't have a Uecker card. Uecker took his collection of cards and went back into the clubhouse. After a while, he came back out. Uecker had everyone sign my dads cards and if he didn't have their cards, they signed a Milwaukee Braves letterhead. So, my dad was able to get his Aaron, Spahn, Matthew cards signed and a nice letterhead full of autographs. My wife and I were able to go to the first home opener at Target Field. We went to gate 6 for the opening and Tony Oliva was supposed to open the gate. We were the first people in line. The gates were supposed to open at noon but Tony and which ever member of the Twins staff opened the gate early so my wife and I got in then. They then learned that we shouldn't have been let in so we had to stand by Tony O and wait for the official opening of the gates. The rest of my family was watching on TV and it showed us standing and talking to Tony O. I caught a lot of grief for that because i was holding my wifes pink bag. Once we were let in, we went down to the field. Gardy tossed a couple of balls our way and my wife caught both of them.
  11. Are you sure he has a draft pick tied to him? Wasn't he traded midseason? I thought QOs couldn't be used on midseason acquisions. I could be wrong though.
  12. Personally, I like Hicks as a player and hope the best for him. I hope he continues on because it looked like, at seasons end, he was the player we had hoped for. I have read in other threads that we should have held on to Hicks until Buxton was ready and Hicks became the 4th outfielder. To me, that logic doesn't make sense. What value/return would a player have if he was the 4th OF? I think the time was right and I think this trade will work out for both sides.
  13. More of a draft question, but don't the Twins get a pick for not signing the guy from Kentucky? Did they get a competative balance pick again this next draft as well?
  14. This is my pet peeve too. I understand TV contracts and that whole mess but I hate the predetermined schedule. I am trying to remember what year it was but both teams won the LCS in 4 or 5 games and it was a week before the WS started. In baseball terms, that is too long of a break.
  15. Was Dereck Rodriguez drafted as an OF? I am impressed by his stats on the mound.
  16. My wife and I were at the game against Cleveland in very good seats behind home and his curve was just filthy. One of the better ones i have seen in person.
  17. I have good tickets to the game Saturday. Bring up Berrios!
  18. I was regretting the decision to not to KC this weekend. I am really regretting it now!
  19. If he doesn't hit a bases empty grand slam I will be disappointed.
  20. It is just a guy feeling but I can see Boston taking Aiken at 7. They have pitching depth in the minors (Owen, Ball, Johnson), and they brought up Rodriguez. They are also a team that can go out in free agency and get a big name so they aren't as dependent on the draft as most teams. I could see them taking a big risk at 7.
  21. Just a general question for all of you. What do you think a realistic season for Arcia could be if he has a year he is capable of having in terms of average and homers? Would it be too much to think that .280 and 35 would be doable?
  22. I just hope we left the clown car in Detroit and the Twins can actually field the real team. I am going to take my kids to the actual circus in a couple weeks. I don't need to see another one on the baseball field.
  23. Sorry for your loss. May great stories and memories like this be your comfort in this hard time.
