  1. How do you discipline a daughter who can spike with authority.
  2. The constant sun beating down on you as made you write a difficult book of baseball standards.
  3. Pelf has to settle down or Gibson will be here in his spot.
  4. He made an extroidanary effort just to catch the ball. You get error cred for that.
  5. I don't like this with Brown up.
  6. Ump blew the call... He was out. Nice play by Carroll.
  7. Thanks for the updates. I'll keep looking for them.
  8. I don't care who was right or wrong... I think the Dodgers needed this. The Dodgers will go on a run now...watch for it... And if they don't go on a run now... They have no chance to win the West... It's over. The Dodgers have been lacking motivation... The baseball gods just sent them Puig and a divisional rival that pissed them off.
  9. I think it's hilarious... A moment that only the game of baseball can provide... He called for the left hander with his left arm and threw sunflower seeds with his right. The Sunflowers seeds trumped and out came Fein... Hilarious!!!
  10. They all get to use bats... As long as that holds true... Anything is possible... If you combine the average of our bottom third... It comes out to .227. Assuming 12 at bats tonight... That means at least two hits from the trio tonight... Maybe 3... If they string them together... Woo Hoo... The Phillies are in trouble.
  11. Dear Twins Players who read Twins Daily, There are posters who believe that the Twins are throwing away 2013. Forgive them. The only people who have the power to throwaway 2013 or declare 2013 thrown away are you guys... The players. The front office can't do it, the coaches can't do it and the fans can't do it. And I ask... Don't you do it!!! 7 games out is nothing. Compete... hang zero's on the mound as often as you can... Compete... move your feet in the field... make the plays you should make in the field and make some plays that you shouldn't... Compete... help your pitcher out of jams... help stop the big inning from happening so you can return to the bench and start your own big inning. Compete... Approach every at bat with a game plan... Move the runners around... Compete... Take the extra base... Compete... Get dirty and celebrate your successes. Hitting .200 or whatever right now... means nothing going forward... That's the stuff you throwaway. Sincerly, Riverbrian
  12. Seriously... My 7 inning babe ruth game outlasted a nine inning Major League Game... Ok... I'll slink away and come back tomorrow... Twins Win... It's all good.
  13. Assuming we lose a bullpen arm when Plouffe comes back... I hate to type this but Carroll should be the guy who comes off the 25 man when Hicks returns.
  14. I gotta do some coaching tonight so I'll be Glorm like and join the game thread late... I just want to say... Worley has been a disappointment and May is struggling with his control but I still make that trade out of necessity. As for Revere... He hasn't hit that well this year but I still miss watching him play. I will be secretly hoping he puts on a show of some sort in the next 3 games... Hopefully all the other Phillies tank so I'm comfortable hoping good things for Ben.
  15. I only take issue with "20". Parmelee in CF isn't anybody's dream scenerio... I think the current lineup construction options are like that scene in Apollo 13. The scene where a bunch of engineers are in a room and they drop a bunch of stuff on the table and the head guy says "we gotta make this... fit into this... using nothing but that". This is what Gardy is paid to do and I'm hopeful that Arcia isn't the CF option from what I've seen.
  16. I'm not sure what all the IE10 talk is about but I'm still stuck in the 80's technology. Just wanted to say that I used to be able to start new paragraphs at work and now I can't. I can start new paragraphs on my I-pad at home. OK... I've raised my hand and I feel counted.
  17. I hope the Twins Front Office promotes Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano with absolute perfect timing. Just like Goldilocks... Not too Soon... Not too slow but just right. And keep the flipping bears away at the same time.
  18. Who is the author of the "20" scouting scale rating of Chris Parmelee? Can someone produce it? That is more important information than the actual rating itself.
  19. If Parmelee has 20 range... Willingham, Doumit and Arcia have 1 Range. I really don't know what else Parmelee has to do to prove himself defensively other than do it for 10 more years. I have no problem leaving Parmelee in RF because he is good out there and he's not a CF prototype and I have no problem with Herrmann being the backup CF because I don't know. However, Can we stop pretending that Parmelee is in a wheelchair. I've seen him run down balls out there and run a long way to do so. 20 Range? 20 Range? 20 range? The Scouting scale is 20 to 80... That means that Parmelee is as bad as humanly possible? That ain't the guy I've been watching. Not even close... If Parmelee is a 20... Somebody doesn't know what a 20 is and it ain't me!!!
  20. AND!!! He appeared to stumble a little around second base... AND!!! The triple was on a ball that was cut off by the Center Fielder... It didnt even get past anyone. I really wanted a College Arm last year... I'm embarrassed with myself for wanting that. I haven't seen this SS the Astros drafted first last year but he's gotta be Sam Bowie right now. Its quite possible in a few years we will be able to say with gusto that the Astros made a mistake. We are thinking it right now... In a few years we can safely verbalize it. God I hope Buxton keeps progressing and stays healthy.
  21. Very Nice... Thanks for sharing that.
  22. I kinda agree with Jorgenswest here. I have no idea if Parmelee is a better option then Herrmann because I havent seen much of Herrmann but I will say this.... Whoever graded Parmelee at 20 range has no business scouting and giving out grades. Parmelee has exceeded every defensive expectation time and time again. He isn't a perfect option in CF because he hasn't played CF but we don't really have a perfect CF option with Hicks out. I have watched Arcia play and he needs a ton of outfield work. IMO Arcia should not be an option in CF. Stick him in a corner and let him rake at the plate. I prefer Parmelee in RF because his arm is fantastic and he plays the wall like he has played it his whole life... I don't fear Parmelee defensively at all in any facet of defense. He's solid.
  23. Last year I watched Trout tear the league apart and I thought to myself... If only the Twins could bring up a young guy like Trout. I was so jealous of the Angels. After watching Buxton for the first time... I'm trying real hard to temper my enthusiasm because it was just one game... But I'm reading the stats for the year... Watching the game... Reading the scouting reports... Watching the game... Listening to Molitor talk about how coachable he is... Watching the game... Hearing TK talk about how Molitor will talk to him about not slowing into second instead of busting hard for triple and watching the next bat be a triple like he was just coached before our eyes. I'm trying hard to temper my enthusiasm but everything is matching up. The Twins version of Trout seems to be a step or two away. Wow... That felt good. Hope he continues to punish the minors.
