  1. With Zimmerman dealing... AZ was right... We best get ready for Game Two and the Deduno and that rhymes.
  2. I actually think he was trying to stretch and make a play... Just like you say... He's a vet... He knows better. Between Florimon and Morneau on that play... Morneau was the only who had time to decide the correct play.
  3. Listen... If Morneau can't move two steps to knock down a bad throw... He can't move 20 steps to get to that ball hit to Dozier. jeez Chief... Follow along will you!!!
  4. OK.. I've lost... Except.... Ummm... If Florimon errored... It was an effort Error... If Morneau didn't error. It was because he was pylon esque. I'll take the effort guy Everytime.
  5. Than Disagreement it is. And I will Hurl this Insult: Chief took an IQ test and the results came back negative.
  6. Yes I agree but when you are in the middle of that... You don't have time to assess. It's Dive... Catch... Get Up... And throw... He wouldn't even know where the base runner is. He was giving the team something extra trying to stop a run... If he makes a bad throw... His teammate at first has to pick him up. Kudos to Florimon... Boos for Morneau.
  7. Next week but I've declared it Fathers Month in our house.
  8. Florimon had no chance but he was trying with everything he's got. He had zero time to make an impossible play. Morneau had time to assess the situation. Morneau had time to realize that the runner was already across 1st base... Morneau had time to move his feet and knock it down.
  9. Great Play by Florimon... Bad play by Morneau... Step off the flipping base and field it.
  10. I'm gonna be nice to Clete for awhile... He just made a play on a team that doesn't look like it cares to make plays.
  11. For me... Dozier starts the 2nd game of the double header just because of that fake.
  12. If you will indulge me for a moment. (Sliding over Soapbox and getting on it) Escobar should be on third. It's the major leagues... The Thomas ball is caught 999 times out of 1000... I don't care... Half Ass it to second... You can half ass your approach at the plate and pretty soon the team has left 1,000 base runners stranded in 3 games. The Twins are playing half assed baseball and Escobar standing on 2nd with two out is just another example. Escobar should be on third.
  13. I was in a Chicago traffic jam so long... That my wife and I were arguing which child we would have eat to stay alive.
  14. If you live in Chicago... The way Traffic is in Chicago... You may want to leave now. I've driven thru Chicago without stopping 4 times... Each time took 3 days to get through Chicago.
  15. I looked up the definition of Tofu... You are in the definition Chief... I'm proud of you. Noun Curd made from mashed soybeans, used chiefly in Asian and vegetarian cooking. Synonyms bean curd
  16. lol... I was just joking... However... I'm not so sure Gardy is conceding anything.
  17. So you are saying that I shouldn't watch this game?
  18. Look at Clete with a normal number 11 on his jersey. It's not number 87 or anything like that.
  19. A. Welcome aboard... TD is a great place. I look forward to reading all your future posts. B. Stats can be very honest but in truth... stats lie all the time. C. In your original post...paraphrasing... you use a team stat saying the Twins Starters are last and 2nd to last in ERA after 76 pitches. You use that info to hang Gardy by saying "when will he learn"? D. Now you are saying that its OK if Deduno and Diamond go past 76 pitches. Just not Pelfrey. You've kinda splintered here. E. I played and I coach as well. Many posters on this site have played and coached. It's hard to tell who has and who hasn't but 95% of the posters here are very knowledgeable. F. I'm not naming the other 5 percent.
  20. I'm pretty sure that sometime in the future... A Manager will come up with a new system of handling his pitching staff and show success with it and the copy cats will come out of the woodwork. I have no idea what this new system will be... I'm just pretty sure that the game will evolve because of one guy with a radical idea. It's always one guy with a radical idea that changes the world... Always. No one has come up with tha radical idea yet. Gardy handles his staff much like the other managers do because that is what everyone feels will work absent of the radical idea. If Correia and Pelfrey and Worley and Hernandez and Diamond and Deduno and Walters are tiring after 6 innings and hitting a wall. You have to keep trying to stretch them or deal with it all year. Today Corriea was under 100 pitches... Florimon choked on a ball and it cost us a run. There is a doubleheader tomorrow... I can understand Gardenhire wishing and hoping... Maybe foolishly... Maybe not... Correia can keep a bullpen pitcher from throwing today with tomorrow looming.
