  1. Damn It... I was taping the 2015 season to watch when I got home!!!
  2. If this is Hicks... Take 3... (Smacking sound of that Clip Board Movie Thing-a-ma-job). So be it... I'm pulling for the kid to figure it out and become what we hoped!!! However... If it was me... I'd start Hicks in Rochester and make him tear up AAA first and then call him up. And then make him compete for the MLB CF Job with someone that I brought in to start opening day. I Don't Know... Someone like Mike Trout or Willie Mays... Nothing unreasonable but yet someone with a little game. The way it sits right now... I can only see one scenerio. Hicks or Schaefer starting opening day and if either or both don't work out... Santana returns to CF. But I'm still scratching my head on why the Twins would utility Escobar in order to play someone in CF who didn't perform at the plate like Escobar did in 2014. I understand wanting Santana to play SS but... CF is still a wing and prayer in it's current state. The attention paid to CF remains baffling and the calender has changed again.
  3. Without even checking the schedule... I'm going to say July 24th... I sure hope there is a game that day!!!
  4. What do you think of the Padres Off Season. Acquiring all that talent and not parting with Hedges or significant MLB pitchers... Could the Twins ever have an off-season like that? BTW... When I ask "could the twins ever have an off-season like that". I don't mean it in a snotty way... It's a legitimate question type phrasing.
  5. My view is a little different. I feel Gibson is a more logical breakout candidate because he's progressing in my opinion. He keeps the ball low... He's using his mechanics in the right way. In my mind he's just going to get better overtime, Arcia on the other hand... He's free swinging... Just a kid with immense talent and potential who hasn't matured yet. When he breaks out... It will be like turning on a light switch... One day he'll stop swinging at crap and boom. I'm just not sure if it's 2015 when he locates the light switch. If he does... It'll be more impressive then Gibson. Right Now... I think Gibson is simply doing the work to be improved in 2015. Gibson knows where the light switch is... Arcia just has a brighter bulb.
  6. Thank You Chi-Town... Finally the respect I deserve. I love the thought of the farm coming to the rescue eventually. As For 2015... I'm offensively optimistic right now. It's going to be up to our pitching I'm afraid... If we get some... Our young guys will look great.
  7. If I could trade for him without giving up Sano or Buxton. Yep... I'll trade for him. Gather ye Rosebuds
  8. I'm also 49 And I'm tired of being thought of... As this Beautiful Young Inexperienced Airhead.
  9. With those Four... Who needs the other five. Eddie Feigner... The King and His Court Like
  10. My reason is the ball leaving his bat at 873 Miles Per Hour... But yeah... I'm holding my breath hoping he impresses in 2015.
  11. CF Santana 1B Mauer RF Hunter DH Vargas 3B Plouffe 2B Dozier LF Arcia C Suzuki SS Escobar Pinto... Nunez... Schafer... Eric Young Jr. on the bench Yep... I went and got E.Y. Why you all sat and did nothing!!!
  12. What an off season... My head is spinning. 3 teams with a glut of Outfielders now. SD LA and Boston. More trades sure to come. Wow... Simply Wow.
  13. Me 2... I don't care if Kershaw blew a tire in the playoffs... I'd start him game one if I had him and I'd love for the Twins to have him and I would pick him up for extra playoff juice at the trade deadline despite poor playoff numbers. I agree with everyone but mostly with Levi. I don't know if luck is the right word but getting to the playoffs is the key... Once there... Play hard and hope the baseball Gods favor you. Anything can happen and Wildcards will continue to win on occasion. Sometimes with an Ace and sometimes without.
  14. Although I'm seemingly in the minority. I like Nunez... Always have. His bat is interesting enough to be helpful and he is nowhere near as bad defensively as reported. He plays multiple positions... I'm hoping Nunez is with us on opening day.
  15. I think I can rightfully claim that I have not been an overly critical poster toward the front office. However... I admit I have no idea what the Twins have been doing in CF since Span and Revere were dealt. I think most of us were OK with the trades. I was... but I think most of us would have thought CF to be solved by now. Since the trades: Terry Ryan announced that Mastroianni... Benson and Hicks would compete for the job for 2013. 2 years later... Benson is out of baseball and Mastro is just about out of baseball. Hicks has proven nothing at the MLB level and reported attitude problems swirl around him. We picked out 3 guys... 2 are done with baseball just two years later and the other... Well... Yeah... The other. After winning the job in ST... Hicks is so overmatched in 2013 that Clete Thomas and Alex Presley finish the year in CF. Thomas and Presley are so highly thought of that they are let go. Going into 2014... Despite Hicks clearly being miles from ready in 2013. He is handed the job again... Ok... Fine but surely there is a backup plan in case 2014 is like 2013. The backup plan in CF is... Jason Bartlett who is a Veteren SS. Hicks fails again and Bartlett retires himself after looking completely helpless in the outfield. SS prospect Danny Santana is quickly moved to CF out of desperation and he performed at the plate and made significant improvement in CF as the year goes on. Schaefer was signed off waivers and he looks like a decent pickup. Going into 2015... Molitor announces that Santana will move back to SS moving Escobar to the bench or trade bait and Hicks/Schaefer are announced as the CF plan. This will be year 3 since the trades... Can anyone explain what the Twins are thinking? Waiting for Buxton? Well... Buxton isn't here yet and he's been very injury prone thus far. CF just appears to be Under Assessed... Under Addressed... And under stressed for 3 years running now. Thank God we signed Schaefer is all I got to say... Thank God we got that guy off waivers... That's what I'm saying. I can't believe I'm saying that. But thank god for Schafer.
  16. When he gets it together it will be as quick as flipping a light switch. Unfortunately some are not around long enough for them to find the light switch. Molitor and the Twins can talk about Hicks opening the season as our CF in 2015. That's fine... I'm more curious to see if he is playing CF for the Twins on May 1st. If it's not Hicks on May 1st... As it stands now... It could Santana back in CF.
  17. I agree Levi... I think of it this way.... You have to ignore a ton of inconsistency to latch on to a grain of inconsistency that looks like consistency.
  18. For those holding up Madison Bumgarner and going " see what an Ace can do". Please keep in mind that Madison was more than a Ace in the playoffs. He was 3 Aces and 2 Kings. He threw 52 innings with an ERA of 1.03 and a WHIP of 0.65. Something he did not do in the 2012 playoffs or during any 52 inning stretch during the 2013 or 2014 regular seasons. They are singing songs about Bumgarner now because he had the fortune to get hotter then he's ever been in his life... at.. the... right... time. Getting to the playoffs is the hard part... Once you do that... Get Hot!!! I'm talking Moustakas (5 homers in 52 AB) Hot.
  19. Of course having an Ace is critical to playoff success. But... A few TD'ers are overlooking the timing of that ace. Clayton Kershaw is an Ace in every sense of the word. October 3 and October 7 he was not Ace Like. I remember watching Zito shutdown the Tigers in 2012. A Very Ace like performance from Zito while Verlander failed. Pablo Sandoval signed a big contract with Boston...He probably got more money then he would have gotten because of his post season success... However... Can any of you guarantee that Pablo won't go for 0-10 or 1-20 the next time he is in the playoffs. I don't think you can... Playoff success will always be about timing... Being hot at the right time... Daniel Descalso can carry you in the playoffs and be cut the next year. Yes by all means... Go get that Ace... But... Please predict who is going to be an Ace in October while you do it.
  20. When it comes to winning baseball... I strongly believe there are many ways to skin a cat. I'll be much happier when the Twins actually locate the cat first.
  21. Someone is going to get hurt... Someone is going to suck... I firmly believe you can't have too much pitching. Meyer and May and Barrios will bust through in time if they are good enough to bust through. Bring me Arms
  22. I agree on Kennedy. He ain't a good fit for us. I'm good with Cashner and Ross... both of them. I'm calling Escobar and telling him about his 3rd base job immediately if Cashner or Ross end up in Minnesota. Cashner has some injury history but his arm and skill is #1-ish potentially. Unless a pitcher of that quality comes back... I'm with you Bark... Sitting in a chair... In the "Pro Plouffe Club". He competed professionally and capably in 2014. And... And... That's really something... Because I was in the Halsey Hall owned "Remove all Traces of Plouffe Club" in 2013.
  23. I think the Giants over pay for Headley and regret it later... Or sooner. Regardless... If you want to trade Plouffe. The 1st... 2nd... 4th... 5th and 8th phone calls has to be made to the Padres. If they are listening on Cashner... Ross and Kennedy. Plouffe plus something else might interest them.
  24. The Winter Meetings would be a success if: 10: The Room Key doesn't blank out 9: Terry doesn't piss off Theo 8. The maid doesn't walk in... At exactly the wrong Time 7. Drug sniffing dogs don't stop and bark at Terry's rental car. 6. The Dodgers make 30 moves taking attention away from Twins inactivity. 5. A Panda gives birth at the Zoo taking attention away from Twins inactivity. 4. Lauren Shehadi dresses skimpily 3. The Wi-Fi covers the entire room 2. Albert Hammond is correct for the week 1. Terry never says "Whales Vagina" not once.
  25. When it comes to operating systems... Computers... iPads... Smart Phones... Bytes... Bandwidth... Snapchat... Microwaves... TV Remotes I take Naive to a new level. So here's the set up. Ever since Apple sent the latest update and I stupidly installed it... My IPad all of a sudden sucks... While bouncing around the Internet... It would freeze... Reload... Go black... It's been over a month of losing my mind frustration. Someone suggested that I switch from Google to Bing for a search engine. Sure enough... That took care of the problem... It's working fine again with Bing. Here's the question... Is it possible that Apple doesn't like Google and did that on purpose?
