    Nice Job by Mauer... Executing the cut to perfection. Key responsibility for anyone playing 1B. I continue to have no defensive concerns with Mauer at all. He's got it down. Now... The Bat.... Based on last year... I have some slight concerns.

    If these are the new jerseys... I like em. Only thing I don't like is... The letters for the names on the back are too big. If we sign Saltalamacchia... The name is going to have bleed over onto the sleeves.

    Just getting home...saw Berrios strikeout a couple of Gophers... Nice movement on his pitches. Who saw the Buxton double? Was it a rope? A Bloop? Has Morganna run on the field?

    I'm not giving up on Hicks and I don't think anyone should give up on a 25 year old 5 tool young baseball player. But the Twins have to seriously consider running out of options on him before he figures it out. To me... The only logical approach is to start him in AAA and have him earn his way to the bigs in Rochester. Forcing him into the starting CF job for the third straight year makes no sense to me. I'm not giving up on Hicks and I think the best way to demonstrate that you are not giving up on Aaron Hicks... is by placing him... sensibly in AAA... Where he's a phone call and plane flight away when he says he's ready with performance and not words. This will be year number 3 of my scratching my head over the Twins approach to CF and Hicks is at the center of all of It.

    I'm buying Mauer while knowing I should sell. I'm not worried about his defense at 1B at all. By the end of last year... Mauer was playing high quality D. He's doing fine at the position. It's his offense that concerns me but I also think it could be a quick fix for him. He should be one of the best hitters in the league and he wasn't last year. If Mauer isn't going to be that 20 plus homer guy that he was... that one year... back in 1962... and I don't think he's going to be that guy... He needs to be able to use the whole field then... not just the opposite way. If he could add pulling the ball to his repertoire. He could come back as one of the best hitters in the league.

    I believe that Injury will be the spark of Sano's arrival. If Plouffe is killing it and Sano is Killing it in Rochester. Sano will arrive when Plouffe, Mauer or Vargas gets hurt. If Sano continues to kill it in the Majors during this injury time... Not only will Plouffe have to be killing it. Vargas will also have to be killing it. If everyone is killing it... The Twins will then have to get creative and find a way to get all who are killing it (including Sano) into the lineup. And under that circumstance... Sano will be a welcome addition to the club for the playoffs. Kinda Like Trading for Pablo Sandoval at the deadline. If Plouffe and Sano and Killing it... It's all good... No one has to be traded. The only worry is that Plouffe gets worn out from playing a full game at the All-Star Game. All teams should strive for 25 players who are killing it.
