  1. In fairness... The issues may have been Santana's Back and Duffey's Bruise. Ryan may not be talking about SP performance. But... It's interesting that Meyer's call up according to Ryan was based on Starters... Not Pen. And now... Here comes Berrios. That's why I've got my Popcorn for the viewing of what happens next.
  2. The strange thing is that... I think I've been fairly supportive of TR and forgiving of the front office over the years. I think Chief is one of the great human beings on this planet but it feels real weird to be on the same page as him. This one is just too messy and it was too easy to fix in the off season and to easy to trace back to it's origin. We were in the race until the final weekend of 2015 and if you just looked at our off season following. You would have never been able to guess that we were that close.
  3. Maybe But... I'm just spit balling.
  4. This is exactly what my Spidey Sense is telling me. I have no idea who is the dominant advocate in the Twins Room in any given situation. I have no idea who Terry trusts or doesn't trust as much. I can only draw conclusions based on what transpires publicly and the Twins were very aggressive under Smith and became much more conservative when Ryan came back. I also believe that the Pohlads are probably more hands off than most think because under the aggressive Smith... The Twins spent decent cash on the roster. I think it's quite possible that they are spending less because Ryan may be more risk adverse. Anyway... who knows... In any organization there are rooms full of people with input and the filtering of that input happens at the top. Change it up and the dynamics in the room change immediately. A different voice can gain importance.
  5. Sending him down Plural would be cruel and unusual.
  6. Thank God they are reading TD. Could you imagine how bad it would get if they didn't know where the internet was?
  7. OK That's what I would have done with that newly created 40 man spot. Cool
  8. Gun... it's more interesting than that. 1. Molly said in ST that he sees Meyer as a bullpen option. 2. The recent tweet from Berardino quotes Terry Ryan Ryan on Meyer call up: "Why not? We've got some issues with our starters. We're trying to protect ourselves."
  9. Molitor said in the post game that he wasn't going to bring Meyer into the game with it on the line. He was nice about it but it basically meant that... He really doesn't trust Meyer at this point. The Bullpen was taxed and Milone didn't make it to 5 innings. I think we are heading down the same path with the Meyer promotion. I could be wrong... but I think I'm right... I believe we have a same page issue between Molly and the Front Office. Molly doesn't appear to trust the youth (rightfully so) and we can only send youth to him. I'm certainly grabbing popcorn to sit and watch this mess.
  10. It's pretty easy to criticize the organization for that. They didn't need to send Kepler down. They should have started him in CF last night. Are you sending Kepler down because Buxton struck out 50% of the time and it's just enough of this rookie stuff in total? I hope that's not the case because that would be very unfair to Kepler. Are you sending Kepler down because Molitor won't play him? Well... then I've got a problem because he was the only option for CF on the 40 man and that's just bad 40 man roster construction and you don't seem to have a manager and GM on the same page. It is my opinion... The Twins lost their collective mind when the sent down both Buxton and Kepler at the same time. And then didn't even use Meyer because.... it was a close game last night. Which again suggests a desperation because you called up bullpen help that the manager doesn't trust enough to use. I'm really not seeing same page right now... but I could be wrong because I'm not in the room and I'm just as goofy as everybody else on this site.
  11. The start was unfortunate and even possibily misleading however... I'm going to stay with the assessment that I made in the off season. The Twins are in trouble because the rest of the American League improved. The combination of: A. Every team in the American League being talented and competitive B. The Twins counting on youth on lead the way. This means the Twins will need to learn how to win the close games real quick. And that is hard to do when: A. Your Bullpen has question marks All in All... I think the Twins have certainly shot themselves in the foot to start the season and when they stop shooting themselves in the foot they are going to find that the other teams are not shooting themselves in the foot either.
  12. I don't think sitting on the bench for someone else's DL stint will retard his development significantly enough to really worry about it. However... It is still lost on me how he didn't get any playing time when you consider the output of the Outfielders who were playing instead. To me... it wasn't that he was benched... It was about the performance of the players that he was benched for.
  13. I can't speak for the others... but part of my outrage... actually concern... I'm really not outraged. My concern is that that they shouldn't be in this position where they have no decent options. It was just Santana and Plouffe on the DL and it's just Plouffe on the DL now. The well went dry too quick and too easy.
  14. It is Borderline but I'm gonna let it stand because he is Korean and I can't be positive about the author's intent. However... I do believe it is much more respectful to use the player's name.
  15. Bummer... I was thinking of doing one... with my concerns which are different from these concerns. I guess I should keep it in my pocket eh.
  16. I think Buck will be one of the greatest players in Minnesota Twins History when it's all said and done. I also think that he will go from stuggling to amazing in the blink of an eye and I feel this way because of the reasons you list above. He's one of the fastest players in the game and he has struck out 50% of the time and when he made contact (23 times) he had a 26% ground ball rate. He put the ball in play 6 times on the ground. It really simple... You are more likely to get on base with a ground ball than you are with a fly ball. If you have world class speed... You are more like to increase your BABIP because you can simply do it with speed when others can't. Now... If you can... go back and watch some of his swings this year. What I notice fairly consistently is an upward angle. Swinging like that makes... making contact... nearly impossible. Your bat is moving at a different angle than the baseball is coming in. This means you have to time it perfectly and it leads to strikeouts and when you do contact perfectly... a ball is hit into the air. I really think Buxton doesn't realize what kind of player he is. When someone is able to get through to him that he really shouldn't try to hit the ball 500 feet and he believes it... I think we will get the Buxton that we are hoping to get. I think it will happen with a snap of the finger but how long before the finger snaps is the hard to know... That's gonna be up to Buck.
  17. It depends on each player's ability and perhaps most importantly opportunity. Bryant was over cooked in the minors before he was finally called up but he has nothing to do with Buxton in my opinion. I'm pretty sure Buxton was rushed because he didn't look very ready in 2015 and Terry Ryan admitted that he was rushed in 2015 because they didn't have any other options. Now... I have no idea what the Twins organization saw or felt changed between October 2015 and April 2016 to make them think that he was now ready. Perhaps they went to his backyard in Georgia in December and threw him some whiffle balls. He clearly wasn't ready and they left themselves with no options so Buxton was handed a job before he was ready and therefore rushed.
  18. Yeah... Reputation Rocking I have my own way of looking at things. I don't blame people for not thinking like me but this one is under my skin.
  19. Very Plausible... I certainly won't argue any of it. However... my Spidey sense is detecting a ball dropping. I just don't know how to swing across town to check it out. And I still don't like the CF Plan cuz... Umm... Well... I'm right.
  20. Yes but don't tell Chief He won't find out for a couple of hours when a Pacific Time hits.
  21. I'm always a fan of any attempt to humanize players. I get bothered when some reduce them to a pile of numbers.
  22. Right out of Tom Petty's Vocal Chords.
  23. Any chance Ryan and Molitor are having a Brad Pitt/Phillip Seymour Hoffman moment. I'm not trying to plant any seeds... I really have no idea. But... When things are not going well... things can get contentious. I'm just trying to make sense of everything that has happened in the past few hours and some things are not adding up.
  24. I'm gonna wait for you to clean this up before I give it a like. I think I like it but you might be saying something completely different.
