  1. At this point every good Belisle outing is just sort of banking another future meltdown or two as the Twins' reluctance to let him go increases.
  2. And don't forget sending down Kepler or Buxton, moves which are all that much more astonishing for a team that's guarded Breslow like he's testifying against the mafia. Granite's a nice story, but if they rearrange things to accommodate a 25 year old OF with no power because his BABIP is a hundred points over his career average in 200 AB's, then we'll know that this new administration is dying to give metrics a wedgie just as much as the last.
  3. The sad part is that you wrote that before Dozier's Messi booting of the ball into left field.
  4. One if they convert Duffey to a starter and trade Kintzler, and Rogers doesn't start pitching like his xFIP says he will.
  5. http://www.shareology.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/7673cfa1d540a95a00a14f3e88a8a17a.jpg?b5442d
  6. I'm not sure what I did to anger Corey Provus, but for the second consecutive day he tried to deliberately force me off the road while I was driving home listening to the Twins broadcast. Tonight during the rain delay tonight he did so by opining that a rain-shortened start from Hector 'Meat' Santiago would be nearly as costly to the Twins as one from A.L. top 10-ish Drew Pomeranz would be to the Red Sox. Last night it was wondering aloud what's wrong this year with struggling 9th-in-AL-starter-WAR Boston pitcher Rick Porcello. I like Corey's work a lot, but... stop with the attempted vehicular mayhem already.
  7. Good, there's been more than enough tarp on already tonight.
  8. RottenJohn, GMatlock, StevenJ and PCdrummer like this post.
  9. Jack Morris just referred to the sac bunt as a "lost art", but poor bunting technique has always been a problem, dating back to the time of this ancient Aztec art depicting angry teammates using the bat to punish a hitter for a sacrifice gone wrong.
  10. http://i1.wp.com/sb2w.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Dallabove.jpg?resize=660%2C249
  11. If Sano is going to keep taking cuts like that at 98 mph heat, he really ought to ride a blue ox from the dugout to the plate. http://idata.over-blog.com/3/19/61/62//vlcsnap-817598.png
  12. Also, the Twins lead the American League in xRuLoBu, or expected runs lost to bunting.
  13. Thanks to just the three Rosario catches the Twins pitchers' ERA is about 3-4 runs lower than their FIP tonight.
  14. And I think TR is still on the payroll, listed as Senior Fellow of Non-Analytics.

  16. Awesome. From now on, I'm going to refer to the Twins' 3-4-5 starters as Duff, Duff Light, and Duff Dry.
  17. Even though they're saying it right, when I hear DB & Co. say that Belisle is warming up, in my head I hear "Belle Isle", the rundown southern mansion in Fletch 2. http://cdn.metacafe.com/contents/videos_screenshots/7722000/7722508/preview.jpg
  18. You spelled "engaging" wrong!
  19. ... our scouts like how the air sounds coming off his bat against Sale.
  20. DRS is a rolling one year window, while UZR is supposed to use multiple years of data. Or something like that. Either way it's pretty clear that Buxton is better.
  21. There's swinging at a pitch out of the strike zone, and then there's swinging at a pitch out of your time zone. I think Rosario made up his mind to offer at that last Sale pitch during the flight to Boston last night.
  22. #3Blair'sMom does not like this post. Or brian.
  23. ... financially secure owner?
  24. And if you want to back up your "advanced age" claim, be prepared to provide convincing details of your most memorable mastodon hunt.
