  1. Because even despite the FIP/ERA disparity Santana is the best starting pitcher you can afford to trade for at the deadline?
  2. ... but not the savior it deserves. http://minifigpriceguide.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Lego-Batman-Movie-Minifigures-22.jpg
  3. Looks very solid. And remember, if the rest of your day fills up on you, there's enough daylight to ignore lawn work by until at least 9:30 or so.
  4. Twins Daily... come for the baseball, stay for the muttering with French subtitles! And on a more personal note, thanks, fellow gamethreaders for offsetting the Twins loss by providing me with the victory of making it not only highly enjoyable but also at least somewhat socially acceptable to avoid lawn work.
  5. http://www.classicmoviehub.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/stoneycurtis.jpg Stoney Curtis likes this
  6. Opponent batting .412/.444/.588 vs Hughes as a reliever, but just .143/.250/.143 in high leverage situations. So just get it over with and make him the closer already, Molly.
  7. Alternate MLB news crawl: "Not finding Nimmo gameworthy, Mets take Conforto in roster transaction".
  8. Too early to say. Quartz and Corian are still in the running. Edit: Mica Owings rumored to be in the mix as well.
  9. I'm sure it'll be fine... http://i.imgur.com/H8WGUbR.gif
  10. Yup, he pretty much did his part. But the Twins offense was off its game from the moment that Miley took the mound as his alter ego. http://cdn.wallpapersafari.com/67/28/oamCPZ.jpg
  11. If Mejia takes the loss it's probably going to go by relatively unnoticed, but having him pitch in the seventh despite scuffling a little early on is another nice little step forward for him. It's also another tiny victory in the Twins' constant battle to avoid ending up with a bench consisting of just a backup catcher and Escobar.
  12. Escobear on a quest for redemption... http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_wiPwzENcCyA/TJ5DOjaprbI/AAAAAAABFt0/ojr8X61NyHA/s1600/IMG_1168.JPG Edit: False alarm. EscoBear on a quest for a half-eaten Arby's Pizza Slider.
  13. In most other organizations his left-handedness would have gotten him called up weeks ago, but it's just the Twins' luck that their hottest high minors OF hits from the same side as two of their three starting OF's.
  14. It's funny that he went with 'swinging away' (and with Castro I'm using the term loosely) again, but ended up with a hit on what amounted to a sort of power bunt to third.
  15. One shudders at the mere thought of the search engine criteria used to find this image...
  16. Thank goodness Miley didn't get stabbed in the leg by the barrel of that broken bat. I mean, I'm happy for him and all, but mostly I'm just relieved that I didn't have to endure the trauma of watching it. To this day I still can't watch Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls because of that one scene... Ok, maybe not only because of that one scene...
  17. Wasn't it humiliating enough for this guy that the bulldog managed to skateboard on level ground? I mean, did he really have to release the second Youtube video showing himself shredding in a skateboard park?
  18. It's supposed to be hereditary, so I guess his problem isn't surprising given how badly his mom struggles with it in Senior League track and field. http://i.imgur.com/11jFN.gif
  19. Mejia catches a bit too much of the middle of the plate... Schoops.
  20. I love that when Dick says a fly ball to center will be a "loooong run for Buxton" and then he catches it at a jog, it's because Byron is ridiculously good at running down fly balls and not because Dick is ridiculously bad at judging fly balls.
  21. Sano with a milk cow-filled rocket to the left field bleachers...
  22. Sadly it's not true. We never went to the moooooon. I read it on reddit.
  23. Just wait til tomorrow. Molitor's gonna go with the old 'fake visitors dugout painted onto the outfield wall' trick. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fgBk0gljQC4/VLWYHz7zpGI/AAAAAAAAIjw/TKJFN4RpKac/s1600/WileECoyotePaints.jpg Fifty dollar fine for any player who gives it away by snickering before Showalter bonks his nose walking into it.
