  3. To keep the lead for the whole game, or just for the inning?
  4. Fully expected to see a Yankees reliever strand a Twins runner in scoring position. Did not expect after first inning k.o. of Yankees starter. Did all of that really just happen? I mean... they're really ahead... right?
  5. Not really. The water was off for a few minutes, but that's about it...
  6. Nothing to see here.... just a nice, relaxing night watching the ball game.
  7. Tomorrow's other page 1 TD story... "nicksaviking name TD's Executive VP of Overstatement Prevention".
  8. Looks like the Yankees bullpen catcher is limbering up early tonight....
  9. I'm just grateful that the joke didn't turn out to have something awful to do with the chip reader.
  10. "Wherever there is incessant bunting, you will find us!" "Whenever a 300 pound infielder's shin is unjustly suffering, we'll be there!" "Whenever the starter's 10 run lead is threatened, it must be... THE MOLLIE AMIGOS!!!" http://www.thetablebellingham.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/3-amigos.png 2017 Minnesota Twins, your pinstriped El Guapo awaits. Godspeed.
  11. Laundry basket between them and the big rock? Kids today are coddled.
  12. Dozier did his best to muffle it by pulling his cap down tight over it, but his Glorious Hair could still just barely be made out at times during the postgame interview as it shouted "Tremble before my irresistible coiffed might, wretched mortals!"
  13. My Divine addiction just kind of sorted itself out on its own, but if you feel that you need an intervention from your fellow Game Threaders, we'll be there for you...
  14. Twins' Twitter feed now showing this clip of the handful of diehard Indians fans still in the right field bleachers as they react to Dozier's incredibly improbable opposite field, game-winning home run...
  15. Not drawing unwanted attention is part of his operative's skill set. But as the Twins' most highly placed mole in the Cleveland operation, Breslow's perpetual question is when to intervene on our behalf, and when to lay low and focus on avoiding detection.
  16. The extraordinarily gorgeous weather will force me to abandon any interest in the game and head outside long before the Yankees finish dealing this final, soul-crushing blow of their series sweep? That may not have been the kind of positive you were hoping for. Sorry in advance.
  17. One of the most lasting legacies of the Gardenhire era, to me anyway, is the Twins' profound, collective inability to even resemble a professional baseball team when they play the Yankees. It's as if a bus full of tourists debarked at Yankee Stadium expecting to get a tour of it on an off day, but instead were forced against their will to don uniforms and take the field for a major league baseball game against a Field of Dreams squad of both living and deceased Hall of Famers all replicating their best season in pinstripes. Or maybe it's just me.
  18. The Yankees are fully armed and operational again today.
  19. It's more enjoyable if you just think of it as the reporter positioning the player for the ceremonial Gatorade dump.
  20. Whoa, hey, let's just celebrate the walkoff win and not give snepp a hard time about his medical problem.
  21. Maybe more of a jinx, but it only rates about a 2 on the presumptuousness scale of zero to Smalley. Edit. Not at all, at as it turns out.
  22. I was against it just to avoid the possible spectacle of Dozier trying to pull the bunt for extra bases.
  23. Now that he drives an automatic, the guys in his car club call him The Cruiser. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/Glensgages/movies/Cruiser-STRIPES.gif
