    I feel like you "curveball terrorists" are jsut being obtuse. Having a curveball doesn't make you good. Not having a curveball by the time you get drafted probably means you'll never develop it.

    I saw a couple days ago he was something like 0-8 on 5-star plays. That made me wonder.... is there a video compilation of all of the 5-star plays in the OF this year? Those must be some pretty damn incredible plays if Buxton has ZERO of them.

    Also, if Royce Lewis had a 80 Power Tool, none of would have questioned the pick.

    I'm sure someone has done the analysis, but it would be interesting to see a chart showing percent chance that any given pick (ie. 3rd pick, 44th pick, 190th pick) accumulates 3 career WAR (or whatever the "right" number is). What I suspect it would tell you is that you'd rather have the 50th-54th picks (all 5 of them) rather than the 5 guys you'd get at your regular slots over the first five rounds.

    I'd say pretty close to the odds of a 2nd rounder.... which is only slightly higher than the odds of a back-half-of-the-first-rounder

    To all the "Boras" comments.... he always wants to maximize his client's earnings, which is exactly what agreeing to a below slot deal at 1-1 could do. Of all the guys to make deals with at 1-1, Boras would be at the top of my list.
