  1. Well, this game gives me hope that we have a really good chance to take 2 out of 3 or get a sweep against Washington. I hear that the Nationals have a bad bullpen. Cookie! Get to that bullpen the next two games, guys!
  2. Yes, this is far, FAR more of a rewarding game than a 11-5 win! This is the way Baseball was meant to be played. Great starting pitching, good late game clutch hitting. I much prefer games like this!
  3. We can count games like this on one hand this year!
  4. I totally agree with the original poster. Better play your best guys and play your hardest these last 20 games. In my opinion, Wild Card doesn't mean squat! It's just a gimmick! You play the season to win your division.
  5. This is very possible as I look at this chart. It's a very good possibility we lose 2 out of 3 to the White Sox. I definitely think we lose 2 out of 3 to the Nationals. We very rarely sweep the Tigers and KC always plays us tough. Cleveland will definitely dominate the Angels and I think their pitching will beat the Nationals. Good possibility of this happening especially with seemingly half our team injured.
  6. The Twins NEEDED to win yesterday and did so. We had to have one out of these three games with Cleveland and we got it. We need at least one in Cleveland and we had better get it.
  7. No. That's pretty much settled already. I suspect that a team like the Tigers or Royals would love to sign him next year though. He could really be a good mentor for their younger pitchers.
  8. Well, at least he pitched a solid game for his last game in a Twins uniform. I have to admit I liked him a lot more than I thought I would. When we first got Pineda, a Yankee fan chided me and said that he's terrible. He wasn't terrible. Pretty good pitcher, I believe his story, and I wish him well if he gets picked up by a team next year.
  9. I'm also a Buffalo Bills fan, so you might want to take that statement back. At least our Twins have won 2, (3 when including the 1924 Senators) World Series, my Bills never have won a Super Bowl.
  10. And Oakland has just blown a 4 run lead. Ugh. Would dearly love for Tampa and Oakland to shut Cleveland out of the postseason.
  11. I know I've said this repeatedly in the past, but I REALLY feel bad for the Twins marketing department. One of the all time great teams on the road...at home we really struggle.
  12. Pineda's start was really encouraging. Postseason worthy, clutch performance. Graterol probably cemented himself out of the postseason roster. The positive here is it is better to know now then for him to do that in the postseason. He is a developing superstar but not there yet.
  13. Game Two biggest game of the WHOLE YEAR! Almost a must win in my book.
  14. Perhaps the strangest thing about this wrist injury is it seems to occur against Cleveland and always in the first game of the series.
  15. I'm just really glad that we have three in Cleveland. Like our chances a whole lot better in Cleveland. We play well there.
  16. This game is literally like a clone from the last game we played against them at home.
  17. Well done, Cleveland. You survived by the hair of your chin. Goal now is we must win one of the next two. Twins must take at least one of these three.
  18. Not trying to rub it in or anything. Just saying that this was more than predictable. I've seen my fair share of baseball. Maybe Thorpe should have been left in. I don't know. I do, however, know that flamethrowers sometimes have a tendency to not hit their spots. HUGE win for Cleveland, if they win this. Literal season saver.
  19. Did we learn anything from this, friends? Prime time is for the cream of the crop, not rookies!
  20. Good game though. Too bad we didn't have one more veteran reliever out there to get us out of this mess! Still a chance to come through in the bottom of the inning.
  21. I wouldn't even mind if the Yankees get the record. It means absolutely nothing to me. Winning the division, however, does mean a lot to me.
  22. Did I see that right? Schoop pinch hit for Cruz?
  23. Bringing Stashak in a critical game. Curious move.
