  1. If the Twins are somehow able to win on Sunday, chances are they will not get swept by the Yankees. But I foresee a disappointing 6 to 4 win by the Athletics and a bad sweep at the hands of the Yankees. New York is playing really well right now.
  2. Now, on the other hand, what Joe Mauer did in ALWAYS taking the first pitch was also extremely stupid and is probably one of the greatest reasons why he will not be in the Hall of Fame.
  3. Making a pitcher throw 10 pitches rattles him. I have seen many times already where Arraez will make a pitcher throw pitch after pitch after pitch and after the at-bat the pitcher has lost his edge.
  4. Wrongly, I might add. It's just a wonder that so many teams did not catch on to that. If the history of baseball has proven anything it is that being patient and being able to make a pitcher really, really work for every single out is the tried and true approach to good, fundamental hitting.
  5. I would love for the rules to be changed that there must be two infielders on each side of second base. This shift thing is so utterly stupid. When you are two inches from second base and you're called a third baseman? Goofy.
  6. Did anyone else notice how each A's batter takes at least 6 or 7 pitches to be out, if they are out? Or how about clutch hitting situations? This, my friends, is real baseball. Real baseball is making that pitcher battle for every single out in the game. As far as I am concerned, the only hitter in our lineup that is a hardballer right now is Luis Arraez. The relentlessness of the A's lineup makes even me tired, watching from my easy chair. Can't imagine how much it tires out our pitching. Our hitters need to come up with a new approach. At least Sano is looking like he wants to attempt real baseball. Excellent approach at the plate tonight for him.
  7. I would really like to know what is the whole point of prospects if not to make the Major League team better? I know. I know. Prospects could turn out to be huge stars. But the vast majority of them never do. One thing is very certain about the Twins. We never, EVER take a big risk. When can you think of anything we have ever done that was enormously risky?
  8. In all honesty, I never really liked the homer approach to begin with. Before this season I was totally against the power movement in baseball. I will admit that I was excited about the offense but there always was a hint of doubt in my mind because hitting homers all over the place is not really baseball. Baseball was always intended to be about steals, clutch hitting, walks, hbp, taking advantage of errors, exciting triples, being able to get the bunt down, and sacrifice flies. Now the game is hit the homer or nothing. I don't know what to say about tonight's game other than the fact that going for the homer is not what is needed. Hitting a double in a clutch situation is REAL Baseball and I would like to see the Twins start doing that.
  9. Rosario is healthy as far as I know. But it's vital that we have our best hitter on the bench for these late-inning clutch hitting situations.
  10. Tough loss to a better team. I would be surprised if the Twins win tomorrow. The A's have that feel to them of a real World Series contender. If my Twins don't make it to the World Series, hopefully the A's will.
  11. Yeah, um, Oakland, THEY'RE GOOD! I would actually pick them as a real contender to win the World Series this year. Why? Because they play really well as a team. Reminds me of the 2015 KC Royals.
  12. When the Tigers hired Gardenhire I said immediately, "Well, we won't have to worry about the Tigers for the next 10 years, that's for sure." I kid you not, guys, I said that. I knew back in 2003 or 2004 that Gardenhire was a terrible manager. I can only dream of how many championships we MAY have won with a different manager during those golden years, (2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2010). Think about it fellas. How many?
  13. What happened to Liam Hendriks? This kind of thing only happens in video games.
  14. I would remind all of you that Detroit, KC, and Cincinnati are STILL Major League clubs and for Cleveland to annihilate them without losing a single game? You just can't counter that no matter what you do.
  15. Well, you can't win em' all. Unless you're Cleveland, of course. This season kind of reminds me of the Spongebob cartoon. "Cleveland wins." "25 games later." "Cleveland wins." "30 years later." "Cleveland wins." At this point, I am not even worried about Cleveland. Any team that NEVER LOSES A GAME is nothing to be worried about. It's just totally unreasonable what they have accomplished. It really looks like we could win 95 games and still win the wild card.
  16. "Boss, we present to you this win against the hottest team in Baseball." "This pleases me very much." WE NEEDED THIS WIN!!
  17. If anyone is a "legend" around here, it's Arraez!
  18. As Marv Albert would say, "Cron? YES!!!"
  19. With Cleveland having never lost since the Bubonic Plague, I would say that these next 6 outs are crucial!
  20. We don't need Arraez to hit homers. We've got plenty of homerun hitters as it is. We desperately need the Will Clark types in our lineup. With Polanco and Arraez setting up the table, Rosario can drive them in.
  21. We are witnessing the rise of a great ballplayer in Luis Arraez. He's a keeper. Polanco and Arraez for the next 10 years HOPEFULLY!
  22. Uh-oh. Gibson is pitching in the 7th inning. I thought pitchers' arms explode after the 6th inning?
