  1. He has had a good month of July - but over the course of over 500 AB's at high A, he hasn't exactly impressed with his bat.
  2. The Rockies are intriguing - someone brought them up on Twitter last night, particularly Scott Oberg. Controllable through 2022, so he would be someone I would be willing to go after.
  3. Again, this. It isn't like the Twins are going to be GIVING these prospects away. Good grief, people need to get over the whole "noooo, we can't trade our prospects. Never, ever, ever." Prospects are just that - prospects. They aren't proven, and more often than not they fail to live up to expectations. As highly as some people think of Lewis and Kiriloff, they aren't Mike Trout, or Bryce Harper, or Joe Mauer, or any of those "elite" guys. Good prospects, sure. But hardly someone you would look at and say "organization changer."
  4. Good grief, if those predictions come even close, that is a lot of activity over the next week. With that said - the A's trading for Stroman? That is so un-A's like. Just some real interesting predictions.
  5. MLB.com suggests that getting Stroman will require a Chris Archer type package. Another intriguing guy from the Blue Jays would be Daniel Hudson. Control is a little iffy, but he has been pretty good since June 1st.
  6. Rogers needs help in this bullpen - he is probably unavailable until Saturday, maybe Sunday given how we have seen Baldelli handle the pen. You can't run him out there for 2 innings (30 or so pitches) and have him shut down for a couple days.
  7. Say no to the internal options at this point. The Twins need to go outside the organization to fix these issues.
  8. The Indians have beaten the bad teams as of late. The Twins have lost to the bad teams as of late.
  9. Why did Castro start over Garver last night? Castro can't hit lefties, and Garver mashes them. Also - over this stretch of games, one can place a lot of blame on the offense/lineup. Just not producing as they were, and without the numbers in front of me, I don't even know if they are at league average over this last 30-35 game stretch.
  10. What about Robbie Ray & Andrew Chafin from the D-Backs? Or Greinke & Chafin?
  11. ESPN has this trade as one they predict.... 2. The Twins acquire LHP Madison Bumgarner and LHP Will Smith from the Giants for OF Alex Kirilloff, LHP Lewis Thorpe and two prospects outside of Minnesota's top 10. They even mention SF possibly adding Melancon to the deal, assuming SF picks up a majority of his salary. Thoughts? For 2 rental players, that is a pretty steep price IMO.
  12. And this would be such a Minnesota Twins thing to do.
  13. Enjoyed the article - but one thing that the Indians and Rangers didn't/don't have is an ownership group like the Pohlads. That is the one factor that I think we need to remember as being in play.
  14. Pretty incredible when you look at those teams in the top 10 of prospect lists, and how well their current MLB team is doing as well.
  15. It is all because he and the Twins are working extremely hard on "staying on top of the baseball."
  16. No mention on how bad Mejia is? He needs to go - Smeltzer or Thorpe can be just as effective, better actually, than he has been/is. And then you can go out and get another lefty for the pen - someone like Will Smith, hopefully.
  17. From a pure do and don't as far as baseball plays go, that wasn't a good play by Buxton. The ball was hit to the left side of center field. He may have thought that Gallo was going to air it out to home plate, but he didn't. That play, looking back on it, cost the Twins a huge run. Bigger picture though - buckle up. This team needs help NOW. You cannot wait another 2-3 weeks to make move(s). Also - Mejia is garbage. I don't care that he hits 95 MPH on his fastball...his command stinks, he stuff doesn't impress, and he just isn't good. He needs to go.
  18. Keith Law wasn't exactly impressed with Lewis in his article reviewing the Futures Game.
