  1. You are obviously not aware of the standard for hitting for backup catchers lol vazquez would be offered a contract (not 10 million) by almost every team in baseball
  2. The OP asked about claimed. If you claim a DFAd player you take over the contract. Margot plays good defense and can hit lefties well. There’s a role there on most teams. letting Margot hit righties in a spot to potentially take the lead is on the manager.
  3. Buxton thinks he gets more points for hitting balls right down the line.
  4. I would love to see Varland in the pen where he belongs but the twins decided to do the opposite of last year when it came to depth. no depth was the play this year if Varland is moved to the pen the twins have one realistic option to replace a starter if they get injured and he’s likely on an innings limit
  5. Okert and Margot would be claimed. The rest would not due to contract. the issue is if the twins dumb these guys and bring up replacements, who are the replacements for those replacements when they get injured or fail?
  6. I get the frustration but I get Rocco’s pov also. The pen is overworked and they have 3 more games before a day off. Putting Jax into a game they’re losing with the bottom of the lineup due is unlikely going to get you a win. Every game for the most part has been close lately and Jax will be needed if they want to win games the next 3 days. the issues I have is letting Margot swing and having Thielbar take up a spot on the roster. Nobody will claim him if you DFA and who cares if they do.
  7. Jackson trying to break the record for most DFAs in a single season
  8. Jax doesn’t pitch unless the twins are leading. That’s Rocco’s Way if we’re losing he’s basically conceding
  9. Pretty tough on the pen when you have Thielbar who can’t be trusted in any situation taking up a spot when he hasn’t played in 8 days. Rocco removing guys with 90 pitches every day who are rolling doesn’t help either when your bullpen is basically down a man
  10. Why win a game when you can just lose? -Rocco probably
  11. As I said, auto out vs righties But as we’ve seen winning individual games isn’t a strategy Rocco takes
  12. He can switch with Martin and play 2B for an inning lol Margot is an auto out here
  13. Ain’t no way you leave Margot and his .493 ops vs righties in here
  14. Jeffers frame job was “ball almost in the dirt”
  15. Farmer! It’s frustrating to watch Buxton. He hits so many balls hard foul because he’s dead set on pulling everything. His bat speed is still in the 85th percentile. He doesn’t need to start swinging so early, but he’s become obsessed with the long ball so when he gets to 2 strikes he’s swinging at garbage.
  16. He was stumbling and bumbling before that. Also not swinging was weird. I think something was up before he entered the batters box.
  17. Guy had an ops in the .500s until the twins decided to help him get right
  18. It was like Kepler injured himself walking to the batters box and wasn’t going to try and swing. So odd
  19. If he doesn’t feel comfortable swinging the bat he should be playing, and certainly not batting cleanup
  20. Wow Royce. Awful error and then swing at garbage. Nice job buddy
  21. What the actual F is this lineup? Correa hitting 5th? The Twins brass just trying to be smarter than they are at this point
  22. It is not normal for 25-27 year olds to need to head down to the minors for a few weeks to get things sorted out. Twins have done a ton of that over the past couple years and twins fans are always giddy about the idea of that really righting the ship More often than not, it just means that they’re not a quality major league player. It could be the result of years of injuries, not enough effort, or not enough talent, but we need to be prepared for the fact that most prospects are not good mlb players and anyone hopping the bus to St. Paul over and over again is probably soon to join that list.
  23. Why does Rocco feel like he owes these guys a chance? This isn’t little league baseball. You employ the best players possible and your goal is to win as many games as possible. Stop worrying about hurting feelings
