At this point, the Twins seem to be so confused as to what they are doing(they don't seem to have an idea) that there can really be no surprise no matter what they do. If they are going to tear it down, then by all means tear it down! If they are not tearing it down, then they should be trying to compete. It doesn't look like they are going in either direction, but tearing it down looks more likely. In that case, trade anyone to improve for the future. That includes Ryan, Lopez, Lee, Walner, Larnach and anybody else that does not seem to be a solid fit for the future. We have some strong prospects at OF and SS. But honestly, who knows what the hell they're doing? The "only thing" that I am 100% certain of is that Rocco sucks, Falvey blows, and the Pohlads could afford a great team if they wanted one. And as far as the 2027 lockout goes, they have a full year to get an agreement done without further damaging the the integrity of the game. Will they? Hell no. Disgusting to say the least.

In the first place, free agents are not going to want to come to Minneasota due to the lack of competitive nature. So that leaves the left overs who can't get a deal elsewhere. So the Twins will probably sign a bargain basement 1B, trade Lopez and Ryan and have around 60M to sign 50 or 60 RP's to minimum contracts throughout the year. More seriously, I think the Twins shoud fire Rocco and hire a former RP with pitching coach experience to manage the team. Someone like Carl Willis. Or maybe a former catcher with minor league coaching experience and good fundamental teaching skills. More realistically, the front office will probably pretend to go after some good FAs but purposely fail in those attempts and then blame the fans due to lack of support for the team, hoping that the shame and feelings of guilt will bring the people back to the park. Is there any more ways for the team to increase toxicity between the team and the fans? But hey, I'm not going to get discouraged. We will be good again someday, probably not in my lifetime but maybe when there is peace in the world and common sense become normal again. Oh boy, I may need to go take my pills. Have a good day.

They are slowly killing baseball. The Twins in particular are not trying to draw more fans. They are driving fans away. Hardcore fans!!!! Billionaire owners and players making millions of dollars per year to play a kids game. Minimum salaries are nearly $800,000/yr. LOL. This is ridicoulous. Most of us don't even earn 2 million dollars in an entire career. But hey, what's a few hundred dollars a year? And for what? Pretty piss poor baseball. They are going to kill baseball by alienating the long time fans and the kids are already switching to soccer all over the country. The stupidity of this league is amazing.

While I am a confirmed believer that I'm a confirmed dis-believer, I find it funny that there is no humor in this laughable disgust. If you disagree with me you have to see that I'm right. What I'm actually saying is that I'm not saying anything. And if Falvey were to be any good at his job he would fire himself because he realizes that he is incompetant. You know what I mean??????? edit: Hey bartender. Another round for the entire bar. What? Of course I know I'm alone.

Total burn down. I'm shocked. Day after trade deadline should be the day we get rid of Falvey and Rocco. You can bet your a$$ you won't see my aSS at the ballpark the rest of the year.

Who is New Minnesota Twins Prospect Enrique Jiménez?
Heiny replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Thanks Seth. I totally respect and enjoy your insights on young players. Of course we all know that most prospects never reach the majors but how can you ever know until you give them a shot. IMO this is a classic case of lottery ticket that could pay off nicely in the future. If he don't, well then all we gave up for the opportunity to see is two pitchers who will not be with us in two months of a non-playoff season. Seems like a great chance to take. Plus it relieves a little financial stress. Thanks for the article. -
I am mostly in favor of building a team from your own farm system especially in the case of teams with mid to lower payrolls year in and year out. I think that the Twins had a very promising team starting this year that just didn't play out as well as expected. I think the Twins have a promising outlook for "26" and "27" with Buck, CC, Jeffers, Lewis, Lee, Ryan, Lopez, Ober, Mathews and about 3/4 of our bullpen. I am high on Jenkins and Keashcall being added next year along with some other of our own prospects. By selling Jax or Duran for a good quality C and 1B I believe we positively round out the team. The key is to get the most out our talent which did not happen this year. I can see trading one of Wallner or Larnach but not both. The managers job is to get the most out of his players and I haven't yet seen that out of Rocco except for "19". Cannot sell on Ryan unless someone comes with a huge overpay and that would not be prospects. Only a stud C and 1B with multiple years of control and prospects to boot.

another blown oppurtunity. classic twins -
I'm starting to get the feeling that this is going to be a total rebuild. Trading Larnach and Wallner and bringing up Jenkins and E-Rod. Trading Duran for top prospects. Trading Bader and Castro for high prospects. Getting a top C prospect from someone. Trading Coulombe. These are all money saving moves. Keeping Lee, Lewis, Keaschal and our SP's. Starting over with good young players and oh yeah, I almost forgot, new manager and coaching staff.

I don't like the idea of trading Ryan, but I think it may be wise if you could get enough for him. Unless the Twins are going to make a serious offer to extend him. Ballesteros and Wiggins is definately not enough. I would think that the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Dodgers, and possiby others (teams who could afford to make a good offer for extension) could and will offer more. Enough? I don't know about that, but the Cubs tandem wouldn't cut the mustard. I don't see it being done without probably 4 high prospects.

Prediction: Twins will become sellers but not get anything worth their salt. Then go into the off-season and sign some cheap low level free agents who will be at or below avg. They will struggle in '26' and we will have the same discussions. Under performing stars with cheap and under-performing replacement players and a dodo for a manager. And history will continue to repeat itself. When did I become so negative? My hope: Twins will get new ownership, new front office, and new manager and coaching staff so we can start fresh. Re-newed hope?

It is my opinion that Rocco does not know how to use a long reliever. So long relief is a death sentence for any pitcher in the Twins minors. Hey somebody here had to bitch about Rocco.

I am an optimistic Twins fan, but, it's time to break this team of underperformers up. A complete rebuild. The core is coreless. Start over from scratch. Get rid of everyone that will not be part of a good team in 3 years. Sell everything for as good of prospects as you can get. There is no-one on the team now that will be valuable in 3 years. Sorry folks. It's time.

Week in Review: Returning to Rock Bottom
Heiny replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
This team is so bad. "How bad is it?" Starting pitching has gone from "supposedly one of the best in the league to one of the worst. Starting pitching depth has gone from one of the best in the league to one of the worst. Bulpen has gone from one of the best in the league to what the hell is going on? Our offense has gone from pitiful to, well, pitiful. Can't bunt, watching strike 3 in all situations including critical situations. Can't score runners from scoring position with less than two outs. We keep players on the roster that don't belong in the major league like Bride, Kiersey, neither of whom can hit a baseball. Base running is poor. Defense is poor. Don't seem to understand situational hitting. With a few exceptions there seems to be a lack of hustle. What is the common denominator? Management and coaching. Where do we go from here? A good start would be to replace the manager, pitching coach and third base coach. Yep, I went there again. But hey, Twins baseball is downright disgusting. Time for some changes.- 39 replies

Can McCusker just not handle 1b? At 6'8" I would love to see him tried a 1b. Big powerful hitter with great size, 1b seems like the perfect spot for him unless he just can't handle the throws in the dirt. Does anyone have more info on his fielding?
