But we have drafted and or signed more than 2 catcher that have played in the major leagues. I mean we have at least 2 catchers every year play in the majors so that doesn’t add up. Also Vazquez was a 3 year signing while Jeffers has been a solid pick at worst. And punting on the catcher position would only punish us the fans and the pitching staff. That doesn’t sense either. And how could a team produce one if they punt on the position? I’m just trying to figure out were you are coming from.

If I am reading this correctly, you are saying we trade Jeffers, who we developed…so that the team can sleep in the bed they made…which is not developing a catcher.

I agree 100 percent with you on Jenkins playing a part in our improvement even if it starts in June as opposed to opening day. He is ready from my POV as well. I see Emma, Connor, Raya all as having an impact next year as well amongst quite a few others that are near ready or ready mid season barring injuries of course. We still havnt seen the best of Lee and I know he is working his A off this offseason.. I still am a big believer in Lewis and will see his true colors this year in a leadership role as well. I know you watch a lot of baseball, same here. I love MIlbtv and make sure to attend every affiliate for games as well. If we can get things moving the right direction next season, which I believe will happen. And hopefully the team can maintain a solid fan base. I hate making predictions because everything is fluid. But we are going to be more than pleasantly surprised going into 2027 and do not need to rip it down to the studs to get there.. I also agree if a desperate team comes in needing a pitcher and will make a desperate offer, we’ll take it. I just don’t see that until the deadline or next offseason. I will check out the GM roster tool, thanks.

All great questions and I appreciate you asking. We definitely do not have a championship roster, but a possible low seed playoff roster. I would be open to trading Ryan for the right guy. But I’m not to enthusiastic about trading for prospects in a rebuild with 2 years of control. I just don’t see teams willing to part with the elite of the elite prospects in return. I 100 percent expect our development department to improve, and expect we will see this right away starting in spring training routines.Gathered from various conversations, I believe we will begin to perform and the past couple years of underachieving will be a thing of the past or yes there will be a new front office in place by start of 2027. I havnt enough information to put together a roster yet, but soon. I also expect a payroll over 120m. I don’t see replacing the entire front office, Burton, Lopez, Ryan and Rocco in less than 12 months as anything the owners would ever consider. So these rumors of trading all 3 guys before the season starts? Honestly not even at the rumor level because it’s not being considered by the powers that be. Just reckless speculation by others. I always enjoy your insight on here so ty, Sorry I’m always late to these Conversations on TD.

That would be nice, but now those that make a living off reporting rumors will move on to asking us if we should trade Jeffers, Emma, or insert players name.

Let’s assume you know those three players will not be around after 2 more seasons, so you trade them now, because we assume they won’t be playing for the Twins 3 years from now. Trading 3 star players/leaders+new manager+new owners+new front office+new bullpen= an unprecedented tear down. Sounds like an expansion team except by then we would all be to jaded to care.

I do not anticipate Ryan, Burton, Lopez being traded anytime before the deadline and even then, so many things would have to go wrong to lead to such a trade. It seams a lot of TD voice a pessimistic outlook, then describe how to make that outlook become a reality by suggesting/hoping the trading of the above 3, fire the FO, get a new owner. What many don’t understand is doing these 3 things, in one seasons no less will lead to a lengthy rebuild, unwatchable baseball, a LOWER payroll, empty seats, multiple stops/restarts and lower payroll again. So basically it leads to what so many of us including myself do not want to see. You can’t advocate for trading our higher paid stars and then be angry at ownership and front office for being cheap, at least not logically. Yes, I do believe we will add, and it is not blind hope. It is based on logic and conversations. Will we add enough? Will it work? I do not know the outcome, but the plan will be to add and improve in 2026. Many are threatening to not attend or watch a Twins game until they get what they think they want…new owners, new players, new front office. Most owners will only slash payroll to ensure a profit. So to each there own, predict the demise, then explain how to achieve said demise and then be outraged when demise is achieved. A slippery slope for sure. New does not equal better, it equals different. Yes it has been 2 seasons of non playoff baseball. I’ve seen much longer stretches and I want that stretch to end in 2026. All of this to say, yes this is MyTeam and I look forward to the ups and downs of next season. To not attend games or watch the Twins would hurt me and the product more than it affects the owners and powers that be. If the goal is to watch only World Series Twins baseball, well it could be a long wait and made longer. Downvote me, or whatever. To those that love Twins baseball, don’t give up. I assure you better days are ahead.

I agree with you, blind or false hope is not good. If this is our roster on opening day, we will be in trouble. I’m counting on our FO to make additions and improvements to our 26 man. I just fear a complete overhaul/rebuild. More times than not it becomes a long road back to respectability. Prospects are always going to be more miss than hit and it can become a constant churn and burn of resources. I expect the FO either figures out and improves our development process, or we will be replacing them soon as well.

I do have a pretty good idea of a few of your posts over the last few offseason. So you assume wrong. I usually enjoyed your comments due to the optimism and outlay and reasoning behind many them. I guess the sudden change in your outlook took me by surprise. The recent about face from opinionated optimistic support to the less than optimistic view maybe warranted for sure. But I miss the optimism…. Not that my opinion matters.

Soooo if I got this correct. We are upset and concerned about what he did not say. While also being outraged by what he did say. Maybe pick a lane? Or just be angry at everything…. I guess it adds to clicks, comments and the bottom line. Wait are we not also outraged about the Pohlands adding to the bottom line?
-
You definitely did not upset me, however you did try so please don’t say you didn’t try to be hateful. Saying fans like me are the reason the Twins do not commit to winning is absurd, I just hope you see that. MY SUPPORT IS GEARED 100 PERCENT TO THE PLAYERS. I have made life long friends with. a few of them. I enjoy the game and am able to objectively separate my emotions and feeling from the owners to the players. If you disagree with any of this, it’ becomes a you problem, as you are welcome to your opinion.

So you won’t attend a Twins game or watch them because you don’t want to spend the money supporting them. But yet you spend your time as a moderator of a Twins Fan sight? That’s weird considering time is more valuable than money. Tell me you don’t have a clue without telling me you have no clue.

So, I’m the reason they are not dedicated to winning. Got it. Now it all makes sense now.

You sound like part of the problem though, not part of the solution.. You did put words in my mouth the first time you quoted me. I kindly asked you not to is all. No need to be condescending towards me however. I stopped reading when you went off the rails. But it sounds like to me you actually pinch your Pennies more than the Pohlands do. Enjoy listening to the Twins on your transistor radio and then complaining about them on here. Sounds like a great solution.. How has that worked out for you so far?
