  1. It was a throw away game...they quit before they started. If this is the new era I am not a fan. To say there was nothing they could do is a cop out. Whatever happened to foresight. They announced the roster moves AFTER last nights game. Does that mean they could have done that last Friday and started a AAA guy against Baltimore in one of the double header games. For a management team that never wastes an opportunity to tell us how prepared they are then WHAT HAPPENED? Weak, bush league, and Lame. Why don't we just crown the Astros now? Apparently our leaders dont think we can compete with them.
  2. One win would have been ok if we hadn't won game #1. I still cant understand why we basically gave them game #3 with a AAA pitcher and our absolute B lineup. Christmas comes early for the Astros. Are you kidding me? With an off day tomorrow you played this game like a Spring Training game. Hello!!! Hey Rocco, Thad, Derek...These games matter man...This was very disappointing. Bad call by management. Is this what we can expect all year? I sure hope not. I saw Enough of this stuff last September. I sure hope we don't decide to crown the Stros next week at home.
  3. I didn't catch why we are starting Stewart tomorrow? That seems like raising a red flag to me. Is it a trickle down effect from the double header Saturday? Gosh it seems a little early for nobody to pitch on 3 days rest. Im assuming the one they are protecting is Berrios? Whoever was supposed to go on Friday i guess is who is being bumped up.
  4. I like the Rudy story and the sire of Ft. Myers as much as anyone. I am sure even Harper himself knows that when Magill, Moya, and Reed come back he will be in Rochester. If he holds it together he could be part of the "overworked bullpen shuttle" that is sure to come later this summer. Whoever we run out there is going to have their bad days. This guy wasn't gonna be perfect all year. I hope he stays positive and keeps trying to get better every single day.
  5. I totally agree! Why tinker with something that's not an issue. Man this lineup is scary when you have a threat like that at #9. Opposing pitchers(and catchers) must get squeamish when they realize there just arent any abs that you can make a mistake. If you get caught slippin, We gonna make you pay. I say leave Buck alone and let him do his thing. So far I'll take it.
  6. I am starting to get worried about what's going on with Reed. I hear nothing. With relievers, and especially in a disappointing season(such as last year) we often tend to remember only the failures of a bullpen. Reed is a proven quality major league pitcher I hope we havent given up on him or we find out he wasn't cooperating with the new staff. As with all our guys I wanna see him succeed. Especially for Us.
  7. I have seen all the negativity towards Castro and though I don't agree with it completely, I do understand it. With the other two catchers hitting so well its easy to bash him. The facts to me are, Astudillo's value to the team at other positions will ultimately keep him in the Majors when Sano is deemed ready to return. Garver, I believe has options as well so his bat and his versatility at 1b is in his favor. If Castro is truly assuming the role of veteran mentor that we hope he is(i have no inside info one way or another)then i understand why we need him or want him around. He Does take good at bats, he hits left handed, his contract, and his willingness to share his defensive knowledge make him valuable and unlikely to get cut. I highly doubt a trade is possible unless we have another 2018 disaster. Garver and Astudillo hitting this well all year us highly unlikely
  8. If we just beat the teams we should beat......
  9. jeeze i work at Chase Field and we get $7 for every D-backs dog and $13 for a domestic bomber....I Wanna come Home!!
  10. I hate to sound like Im jumping the gun, but a lot of you guys said pitching would be our downfall. There's nothing wrong with rollin em out there and seeing how they do, but at what point do we say we've seen enough? Keuchel and Kimbrell are still out there.... If this FO lets this season slip away it's on THEM. Not Molitor. Not Terry Ryan. Not us. Not St.Peter. Not the Pohlads. If this season goes to crap its on Falvey, and Levine.
  11. I hope we do everything to keep all our guys in the Majors. I am rooting for Sano to become what he is supposed to be- a competent major league third baseman and a very Very Dangerous hitter. Marwin Gonzalez does not care where he plays. He is playing for ANOTHER Ring. With the core group we have it will all come together. Adrianza is still around and I am guessing his attitude and professionalism is why he's here through 2 managers now. Dont hate me but Astudillo or Cave are the most likely to be in Rochester once Sano is deemed ready to return. If not, they will drop the rehab assignment tag on him and leave him there. GO TWINS!!
  12. 90 would win the division but if we win the games we should win(unlike 2018) we go 95-67. I have said all along last year was so maddening. Nobody could see Lynn was 30 days behind everyone else? The day they traded Escobar he pitched a Gem in Fenway for the win. Rodney is someone i bet they wish they still had. Some of the trades made sense but come on? Pressley to the Astros??? We all knew how good he is getting. It's a shame Mauer had to retire on that dismal note.
  13. I think we have a lot of time to sort things out. Of course we want the Sano from the first half of 2017! There's no doubt in my mind he can do it. But will he? If the current administration manages him the correct way we could easily work him into the current playing rotation. Its not written in stone he has to be handed any starting job immediately. I feel like the FO's plan is to integrate him slowly and barring injuries, work him back in at dh, 3b, 1b, and dont forget he can play corner outfield in a pinch. (before you laugh has anyone EVER SEEN Tyler Austin play outfield?)
  14. I have always been upset that even when we have a good team nobody else in the country ever gives us props...maybe that's changing.... from mlb.com..3. Twins (8-6) You can look at the Twins a certain way and make an easy case that they’re now the AL Central favorite. And it’s not just because the Indians appear to be more vulnerable than they’ve been at any time in this string of three straight division titles. The Twins are off to a good start despite an offense that is in the bottom half in almost every category except one: OPS. Minnesota is ninth with an .814 OPS, which could be an indication that there’s more there after adding Nelson Cruz, Marwin Gonzalez, Jonathan Schoop and Willians Astudillo to an everyday lineup that already had Eddie Rosario, Jorge Polanco and Max Kepler. Jose Berrios and Michael Pineda have been excellent at the front of the rotation, and once Jake Odorizzi gets on track, he will add quality depth. Addison Reed ’s return from the injured list should make the bullpen as good as any in the division. Also interesting is how the AL Central will play out. The Tigers and White Sox could both get better as their youngsters settle in, and the Tribe will start to get its core guys back at some point. But if Twins center fielder Byron Buxton -- who has an .868 OPS with three steals and seven doubles -- finally is the player he has been long projected to be, Minnesota will be in excellent shape. I have been saying we SHOULD be taken seriously for awhile now. What do You think?
  15. I think we have considered all of these options before we learned about the mysterious heel injury. My answer was the same as it is now. Sano, Cave, and Astudillo all have options(as does Garver I believe). Whoever is swinging a hot bat and helping the team in other ways (i.e. defensively, chemistry wise, clutch performance) stays and whoever is the odd guy(s) out goes to Rochester. This is not a bad situation to have. Depth is a good thing.
  16. wow i dont even know what to say except WAY TO GO!! if we get a sweep my Met's fan roommate has to wear a different style of my Twins hats for seven straight days! And now my chances of having to wear the Met's hat are ZERO!!
  17. id love to hear the catcher and or pitching coach miked up during a game to really see how they work out pitch sequence etc.
  18. i would really like to know who calls all the pitches. Some teams let the battery do it, and some call them from the dugout via hand signals to the catcher. Nobody has ever said how the Twins are doing it this year. I would suppose it depends on who the catcher and pitcher is.
  19. Rogers is responsible to let Rocco to know when he's needing a break. I can see Moya getting healthy and becoming a valuable second left handed option.
  20. Man I am already on every one of their band wagons...I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!
