    Former #2 draft pick Ryan Eades has lately been pitching, finally, like a second round selection. It would be awesome if he sustains the great starting pitching and becomes a Twins pitching prospect. The Twins sure need starters who can shut down the opposition. Better late than never is what I say about Eades. I hope he has a monstrously successful season

    Yes, it was great to see Blankenhorn smacking the ball to good effect today. Also I am impressed that Eades is pitching so well. Up to this point this second round pick has been rather disappointing. I hope there is no jinx on him now.

    I also agree that DAVIS should be in the top 5 for the month.

    Yikes! 4 teams lose, and Will starts today for Rochester. Like I said, Yikes. Blankenhorn got off to a good start and then has been super mediocre (pardon the oxymoron) ever since. Injuries to some important prospects have obviously been a significant problem.

    If the goal was to preserve the pen, then Wheeler should have pitched the 8th inning. Curtiss in AA ball is a closer, and he has a terrific strikeouts per innings pitched rate. He would have been a better player to add than promoting Rucinski. Heck, they could have added Curtiss and Wheeler to the 40 person roster. They could have outrighted Presley or Belilse or Boshers or Breslin and that would have been ok, really It is time for the Twins to use Rosario, Curtiss, and Melotakis. These guys aren't super young, but the are dealing in the minors. I have more faith in their shutdown ability than I do with usual suspects on the pitching staff of the 25 person roster.

    I said this in another post. The Twins should have put Curtis on the 40 man roster and promoted him along with Resario or Melatakis. They are young. They are smoking hot and have a much better chance of helping this team close out games with the lead.

    Put Curtis on the 25 man roster and call him and either Rosario or Meloticas up.

    Hey Mudcat, Green is certainly talented, but I second the caution someone cited yesterday--it may have been Thrylos--about bandying the term "generational" talent around. Is The consensus that Green is one of the best draft eligible prospects of the last 5 to 10 to 20 years? Again, he is definitely a talent, and I wish him the best. I am hoping, though, that the Twins draft wright.

    i get that Polanco made the brutal error that sparked the Sox runs. But what, supposedly, is his upside as either a starter or reliever on this team? Sure, he had an opt out date coming up, but is he likely to be someone who significantly helps the Twins compete? Right now they are competing in a weak division. Few have suggested that they will remain competitive but who knows given this division. It is still very early in the season. I hope the Twins will go with Berrios in the rotation. Telescope for the long haul does not promote confidence.
