  1. Parmelee must have broke some kind of organizational rule when he was is Rochester. His call up seems more like a punishment than a reward for good performance at AAA - he never plays. All the batting problems that he righted in AAA are probably down the ****ter because of his non existent appearances on the field of play... what a shame.
  2. Money aside - A Blackburn trade would look like two diseased primates throwing feces at each other.
  3. Sorry to make this short... I need to hit the hay. The "Faust-Ball" story was funny. I never did consider you to be a "Sux" fan - that is the knife in my sleeve. I look forward to our next meeting when we are allies. Bark
  4. I hope so too Glunn. I must now go to sleep... very tired. Have an excellent rest of the evening and a great day tomorrow! Bark
  5. We still need a fix of Carew Blue. How do we convey this appropriately?
  6. You beat me to the punch. As you will see in my last post I am trying to make the peace.
  7. Dear Mr. 108 Double Stitches. I must apologize for my responses this evening. When I threw out my post this evening I was in a mindset of clowning around - I guess I was thrown off with your negative Plouffe responses. Because I am a Plouffetist, I took your responses too personally. For this I am ashamed. I have worked many arduous hours to find my Plouffetist center. Some might say I am one of the founders of Plouffetism, but as of now I feel like I have a lot more work to do. I hope I have not caused you to have negative energy. Let this post be the extended olive branch of truce and friendship. If you ever have a question about Plouffetism or need a compassionate Twins Daily member to vent upon. Search me out. Bark
  8. What assumptions? My post was a far fetched joke. If you are talking about my response to your response, be clear. Key me in dude. Are you scrutinized at your job all the time? When you are doing an above average job, are told only about your flaws and not commended on the things you do well. If your work performance stat sheet is above average, are you reamed by your boss for your mistakes? You seem to have this penchant for being the boss and a crumby one at that. If you have people who work under you... they will quit.
  9. I am assuming your response is negative - if it wasn't meant to be... sorry. Plouffe has to be in the top 1-5 3B HR hitters, he is playing average+ defense, he has raised his average form .150ish to .250ish in a month or so. What the hell else do you want. You should be rooting for the guy instead of being a player hater. Plouffe has a legitimate argument for making the All-Star team, although it is a long shot. I guess you must be a White Sox fan. I imagine you must like your club's trade for Youk.
  10. Twins Daily deserves the recognition as does Hageman - he is a very good writer. Both should get some props!
  11. A few things need to happen if the Twins are to make the playoffs 1. Some event will have to occur where all or most the team is exposed to gamma rays or some other kind of radioactive event, thus leading to at least half of the team developing super human strength and some baseball beneficial super powers. If this theoretically happens, I would imagine that a few of the players will perish because of their exposure to the nuclear happening and hopefully it would be less than more and we can get by with our lack of depth. 2. MLB decides not to add a Super Powers clause into the PED/Drug testing thingamajiggy until next season. If this is what MLB decides, maybe we will win a World Championship this year. The downfall is that the Twins Organization will have to start from ground zero next season player wise. We'll see what happens.
  12. Riverbrian - as usual This gave me a good laugh!
  13. Happy belated B-Day Ultima Radio. I guess I would expect that Hunter will play a few more years, but who knows? With his sons serious legal/criminal problems maybe he will hang it up to focus on that aspect of his life. I do not expect that the Twins will sign him. T-Hunt can be a handful but if you add in his son's legal issues it seems like a match made in P.R. hell.
  14. Why not! You wouldn't even have to pay Tuesday for him. (I couldn't resist)
  15. Count me in on having that hope as well!
  16. There was nothing definite with the thread response I threw out there. I am dead serious. There will be no metrics or analysis. I am a Plouffetist and I have a good feeling about Plouffe - over and out, enough said.
  17. Hey Rickie, Thanks for your apology. It is not necessary though. You were just playing baseball to the best of your ability. Maybe the collision scenario was a bit unorthodox, but what the hey - things happen. If I sounded put off by it in my after game comments, I apologize. I was frustrated by being injured on the play and felt that this injury might keep me out for a handful of games. As you know, I am from St. Paul and I share the same passion as our Twins fans do - as I am a Huge Twins Fan. It kills me to miss games with an injury - I want to be out there competing, I want to turn this dead horse of a season around. I make a lot of money and I know because of this I will be scrutinized for this as long as I wear a Twins Uniform, but it certainly doesn't mean I do not care. Hell, I might care more than anyone - this is my town, and a lot of people have pinned their hopes on me to help bring them another World Series Championship... this weighs on me. I might not have the biggest and in your face personality, I might not seem to be the leader that fans think I should be, I am a pretty reserved person - not too many highs or lows - I am even keel. Rickie, who the hell are you to call me out for being injured? In 8 seasons you have only had 3 seasons with 500 plate appearances. You are the definition of an injured ball player - you are Mr. Glass. It might have meant more coming from a player who actually is durable. Ricky, you have an all-star game or 2 under your belt and congrats for that. I am the only catcher in MLB history to win 3 Batting Titles, I have won an MVP and I have won more than a few Gold Gloves. The analysts/scouts have always said I could not be a long term catcher because of my height/size. I am now feeling that they might be right. I like playing catcher and I take pride in being the best I can be and maybe I have held on too long because of my contract. I don't want to let down the fans. Maybe next year I will play one of the corner OF positions or 1B. It will not be 3B as Plouffe has entrenched himself as a difference maker and power hitter that this line-up needs. Hey, this year is not said and done yet. Maybe my bat will get hot and I will challenge for a 4th batting title. I can assure Twins fans this. I may never win another batting title again, but I will be in the hunt for many years to come!

  19. Strictly from on the field. Plouffe is surging and has been the point of pleasantries and interest the last 3 weeks. Very bad seasons by a team do not come without a reward sometimes. This being said, every baseball player has their struggles a few times during the season and Plouffe will indeed have his again. In my heart of hearts I feel strongly that Plouffe will be a solid MLB player+. Let us see this season play out and reserve our judgement until October - Plouffe's book is not yet finished. My gut tells me we have a .250 - .280 BA, 25-30HR's and a 100RBI, decent fielding 3B on our hands. These kind of players are not easy to come by. Being a Plouffetist, my judgement might be viewed as askew, but being at my utmost Plouffetist Center, I understand the nay saying, I understand the skepticism. I simply believe that Trevor Plouffe will prove the Anti-Plouffes wrong.
  20. He has been super solid at 3B. Let us not Forget Corey Koskie. He was an atrocious 3B at first, but turned himself into an above average defender at 3B. Plouffe may not be a perennial .300 hitter, he will bring the punch to the party. Mark my words on this.
  21. I did not know those specific details. It seems like Tori Hunter is the dog (expletive) ultimate.
  22. What did the Twins sign him for? 9M over 3 years? If that is the case, what? we owe him about 4.5M remaining on his contract. ****, set Nishioka free. He will never play for us again or in MLB and is taking up a 40 man roster spot - choking up 4.5M is a lot better than what the Cubs have going on for them with Alphonso Soriano. It could be worse for the Twins.
  23. Although T-Hunt can sometimes look like an idiot with his over exaggerated remarks sometimes. I still have love for T-Hunt. How can anyone blame him for leaving the Twins to go to Anaheim. 18M a season for 5 years - that is stupid. For that time period that is 6M per season overpaid. Kudos to him for getting his pay day. It is obviously clear that T-Hunt will not be an HOFer, but if he hits the 300HR mark combined with his stellar defense, he can chill with the likes of Dwight Evans, Tony Oliva, Vada Pinson, Minnie Minoso and so on. That is not too bad, especially when you are worth a 100M or so.
  24. Hard times for the Rock Cats. I must admit that Hicks' performance thus far is a disappointment to me and I wish Herrmann was doing better at the plate. Maybe their AFL stints had me expecting more. Hopefully Arcia is successful and continues his ascent up the farm system ladder. TFFA, I really like the title of this article - "The Rock Cat June Swoon". It should be the title of a Chuck Berry or Ike Turner song from the late 50's.
  25. Welcome aboard David. There is nothing to be intimidated about. Have at it - go for the gusto. The worst that can happen is you will be banned, but second worse is you might throw something out there that draws the ire of your fellow Twins Daliens. none the less... It is worth it.
