  1. Although it was hard to see Albert leave St. Louis (as the Cards are my NL team). I never had any doubts that he wouldn't suck all year. Maybe his best years are behind him, but I still see him hitting .300 and hitting 35ish HR's for the next 2-3 years. Pujols is the best player of this generation of Major League Baseball. If Pujols is indeed 32 years old, he is the last chance we will have for awhile to break the All-Time HR mark and make that designation legitimate again. Here's hoping to that!
  2. 100% agreed. It's nice to see Mauer doing well again.
  3. @#&%!!! I can't wait... this is my kind of baseball!
  4. Let's save those trades for this off season.
  5. Glunn, I am not quite sure. I am working on it. We need to find the specific porthole that can take us to this alternate dimension. Actually the Rainbow Room might be a good starting point. Some of things I seen in that joint had to come from some other dimension - they were not of this plain of existence.
  6. Good morning. Not to be a nag, but you should fix the "mediocre" spelling in your tagline.
  7. Hallejuhah! Thank the Lord and Amen. In some alternate universe our trade dreams are coming to fruition! 1. Liriano is traded for Shelby Miller and Matt Adams. 2. Span is traded for Billy Hamilton, and the Red's top 2 pitching prospects 3. Morneau is traded to to the Bluejays for Canada west of Ontario, Terrance and Phillip and Travis D'Arnaud, we then flip Vancouver to Seattle for Felix Hernandez and 100 million buckaroos. 4. Sadly, LA rejects a trade the would send Josh Willingham to the Dodgers for Hollywood - straight up. This might be in our best interest. I was in LA at the Rainbow Room in late 2003 and Judd Nelson and Ron Geremy were having a meeting of the minds. It was creepy - I don't think that we Twin Citians or Sotans are ready for that. We need another 20 years or so. Let us rejoice in victory!!!
  8. Poppycock Dear Sir... straight and simple Poppycock.
  9. Did someone win this contest or was it cancelled for lack of participation?
  10. I agree with you that people are going way overboard regarding his performance, but he is definitely guaranteed a spot in the rotation next season. As it stand now - he will probably be our opening day starter.
  11. It's not as if he broke his leg. It is a jammed thumb.
  12. Yeh... that would have been really, really enjoyable.
  13. Forgive me for straying out of the Liriano trade returns conversation for a moment. As was rumored last year - maybe the Twins will trade Denard to D.C. for Lombo, Jr. and Drew Storens. I know this will make a lot of the TD participants angry, but they will most definitely convert Storens into a starter. That appears to be the new trend this organization is trying to make fashionable.
  14. Damn, this is bad news. Plouffe is one of the few reasons to watch this team this season. I agree with most of you that there is something amiss with the medical staff of the Twins with diagnosing injuries correctly in an expedient manner and making the right decisions for a course of action to take. In Plouffe's case, I cannot blame them for holding out because of his value to our lineup and the nature of the injury he had... it sucks... what do you do? Good Luck Danny V.
  15. A tear drops the Texas Ranger's eye... so sad:(
  16. In the last few weeks I might have mentioned Liriano to the Yanks for a package built around David Phelps. As of now that seems like a super stretch. I still think he will go to the NYY but not for much.
  17. Hey River Brian. It is good to read your written word. Much props. I can see Upton being out of favor in AZ. He has been shouted out as the next coming of Griffey Jr. and that stuff can quickly go to a you man's head. Who knows, maybe him and Stephen "Mr. Glass" Drew became busom buddies and Stephen's baseball arrogance rubbed off on him. Whatever it is, there has been a Justin Upton trade rumor since last November. Maybe those initial rumors put Justin out and he is requesting a trade in secret. A few things are for sure: 1. He will not be traded to the Twins. 2. Whomever gets him has a player is probably getting a franchise type of player and most probably will take off. 3. AZ wants to see if they can shake him up and get him out of his current funk. No one wants to trade premium prospects anymore and AZ's return will probably be less than what could have been expected 2-4 years ago. I wouldn't trade Upton and neither will the Diamondbacks.
  18. I do not think anyone was questioning your philosophy. The Twins getting Dylan Bundy and to a lesser note Justin Upton were the target of threader's questioning your supposed returns. These, my friend are delusions of grandure and are out of whack with the real world. These player returns are not in the spectrum of reality... any kind of reality.
  19. This is truly a great day for Beardom! Good Luck Luis Perdomo the Baseball player and no luck is needed for Luis Perdomo the pianist - he seems to be doing just fine without any luck. PFH... you are the man!
  20. Sorry Mr. USAFChief. I promise I will do my best to pass next weeks spelling test. I thought this was a pre-test.
  21. Jim Bowden, as we all know, is an arrogant, self obsessed, egomaniac. My opinion is he throws scenarios and info into the public to cause a stir, which in turn, brings the attention back to him. I hope that no one ever takes him seriously. He is a very bad person who has manipulated and taken advantage of 3rd world human beings, those of which have very real hardships. Why is Pete Rose banned from baseball and Jim Bowden gets to lollygag around the game of baseball and spew his words of fraudulence. Pete Rose might have made some bets on baseball, but I guarantee he never bet against his team. Jim Bowden is a blood sucker who vamps on the outrageous, the controversial, and making excrement up as he goes along in his cushy day to day job and sours the game of baseball on a daily basis, Jim Bowden should be banned from baseball. My love for baseball will always be suppressed until this guy is erased from the ledger of baseball. Jim Bowden, please go away.
  22. I like the Cohen Brother's movies for the most part, but the movie "Fargo" will always be one of fuels filling up the stereotype of what a Minnesotan is. Oh well, I need to run as dinner is ready. My wife made lutefisk ya know and I am hungry.
  23. Funny.... excuse me while I go to a private room and do that... both of them of course!
  24. Take away the hair, they pretty much look the same.
