  1. La Tortuga continues to hit. I hope the Twins decide to keep him. If not then he should get a lot of catching time at St. Paul unless he is out of options and picked up by someone else. Rooker is going to strike out a lot but has great power. Kirolloff startting in the minors is the right move for him and the Twins. It will be interesting to see what the Saints roster is going to be.
  2. St. Paul should have a great pitching staff.
  3. Right now I'd rate The Dobnak as our #5 starter. Smeltzer of course is now in the minors. Looking forward to getting a look at some young arms this summer. Can't wait for the season to start.
  4. Time to learn how to throw a knuckleball..
  5. For the relatively small cost of around $2 million I would have resigned Wisler.
  6. Alex Kirolloff has never played AAA ball. He's had one MLB game. His AA career was not great. It's OK if he does not start the season with the Twins. If the Twins don't start the season with Brent Rooker in the outfield then like the neglected wife he should say, " Play me or trade me".
  7. Reminds me of what they used to say about Willie Norwood, " Every flyball is an adventure".
  8. Nothing wrong with being a 3 inning relief guy, or perhaps use as an opener.
  9. As Ray Miller used to say, " Work fast, change speeds, throw strikes".
  10. I love the life story of Devin Smeltzer. However I do not see him as an MLB pitcher. St. Paul should be his home this year unless and until he improves.
  11. If La Tortuga ends up in St. Paul it could be interesting to see him frolic with the mascot.
  12. Since the AAA season opening has now been set back to May, I wonder how that will affect the Twins' decision regarding service time for Alex?
  13. Ahhhh, just talking about baseball strategy and knowing that it won't be long before we get to set it makes me very happy
  14. St. Paul could have a heck of a team this year.
  15. Nick, I hate to disappoint you, but his ship has sailed.
  16. This will likely not work for the Twins. Too high an asking price or in Price's case, too much salary for a pitcher with too many recent health concerns.
  17. Now if they could only figure out a way so we can stream it at a reasonable price.
  18. As the lonely wife said to her husband, " Play me or trade me".
  19. I love the radio broadcasts. I go to bed early in the evenings so I end up listening in bed until I fall asleep. I get MLB TV and even though we are in blackout land I can watch the replays or highlights the next day. Live TV is way over rated, especially for such a long season with so many games.
  20. Interesting about how Smeltzer is rated. I love his life story, but see him as strictly AAA material.
