  1. Which conversation do you believe best describes a player and his injury. Player; " I feel a lot better. skip. I'm ready to go. Twins; "Great, but we're wanting to do some roster shuffling. So as far as anyone is concerned, you're still hurting. Got it?"
  2. Gordon, IMO, is one of those athletes that is so smooth he doesn't look like he's running or playing hard, but he is. When I saw Carew play, I thought the same. Carew didn't chug and pump his arms when he ran. He glided with excellent speed.
  3. A little warm in Tucson today. Hit around 111 degrees where I live. My house painter started at 5 am, threw in the towel around 8:30 am. His crew couldn't continue. I called them 'Twins" and sent them home to rest and recuperate.
  4. good evening. another evening of spirited conversation while watching our beloved Twins!
  5. When I think of Falvey, I also think of Levine, and vice versa. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. On one hand, you want a front office working together and 'being on the same page'. On the other hand, it's good to have multiple view points. If there is going to be a change it has to come from the Pohlads, and they have not demonstrated a great sense of urgency in making changes, especially if it might affect the bottom line. I ask myself this question: Would the Pohlads risk $15 million to have a decent 'shot' at making the playoffs? Or would they rather not risk any revenue for a playoff possibility?
  6. I don't bet on baseball games, so the Twins aren't costing me any money. Whether they win or lose doesn't affect my family's interests. Thankfully, every time they lose, I don't have a sign on me, about rooting for a loser. So why do I get so upset? Because I enjoy watching baseball and they've been a part of my life for 60 years. It's not worth the trouble or anxiety. I think I'll start an ant farm.
  7. Hey Happ, think maybe covering first base is a big deal?
  8. Are they saving him, so they can trade him as healthy as possible?
  9. Fine line sometimes between being a good team versus a bad team. It's the ability to learn from mistakes and don't make them again. Twins are too consistent in making the same mistakes and decisions over and over. I know a lot of posters will disagree with me on this point, but I'm a believer in designating players in specific field positions, and a batting order with a semblance of consistency. Our outfielders are constantly challenged just in playing in new ballparks, i.e. left field plays a lot differently than right field and so on. Soften the anxiety of playing a new position every other day and still needing to provide offense. Too many times have I seen managers set players up to fail. Now, with that said, players do need to be flexible and an occasional start here and there is beneficial.
  10. Twins who play in the outfield lead the league in whip.........wall hitting is prolific
  11. I understand Bremer and whoever are broadcasting from Target Field. But when the Twins are on the road, at least quit saying here (referring to Target Field). It's disconcerting to the fan.
  12. That looked like at least a 10 day wall crush.
  13. Who else besides Kirilloff runs hard to first? I see so many slow up as they approach the bag or stop on the bag.
  14. Buxton has residual soreness. I bumped my arm in the doorway. It's a little sore. Is that residual soreness?
  15. No,he's fine. But, we're hurting!
  16. God, that was brutal, just brutal. But ultimately effective.
  17. This reminds me of the Ted williams excerpt from Ball Four. "Here comes Kenta Maeda, Kenta effin' Maeda and that little **** fastball of his".
  18. Maeda looks frustrated. Too bad he doesn't have a decent fastball to throw it by someone, every once in a while. Those wimpy 90 mph aint gonna do it.
  19. That was Maeda's foul pitch.
  20. That's BS as far as Buxton is concerned. Buxton plays all out. They've been fortunate for him to learn and play it safer when it comes to dealing with the walls and fences. Most injuries happen due to a single instance, not a multitude odf instances. There is some responsibility as far as the team letting the fans see him at the MLB level.
  21. I agree, except for one thought I have. Let's cut bait and not wait this out for another several years.
