  1. Also Plouffe needs to stay at third base. I don't think Sano will stay there and will be an OF by the time he makes it to the big club.
  2. Revere needs to be in CF and trading Span while he has value is a must if they can get a starting pither for him. At least we have Terry Ryan in the drivers seat, so we know he will get good value for him. When Span is gone it should be either Benson or Arcia playing to see what we got. Mastroianni is nothing more then a 4th outfielder, but I have a feeling Gardenhire loves him and he will get more playing time then he deserves.
  3. I remember Ian Desmonds name being thrown around last year. He would look nice at SS right now!!!
  4. Ummmm......we are pretty much stuck with him, so hopefully he can regain his form and give us a mid 4 ERA and be a 4 5 guy for us next year.
  5. Keep him and offer arbitration. If he continues to pitch this way he will turn it down and we will get a comp pick. That pick will probably have higher upside then what we get for him.
  6. I'd rather have a bad Morneau than a good Valencia.
  7. Coachable talent will listen and work to get better. Alot of it has to do with confidence and if you can bring out the confidence in the player it will translate into success at the plate. I dont know anything personally about Benson, Tosoni or Valencia, but I will bet they either don't have confidence or they don't take well to being coached.
  8. I truly feel Morneau is back and still has a few great years ahead of him. Minnesota is not going to contend in those years, so we need to hope his next 2 months are huge and we will get a good return for him if we trade. St Louis has gambled on Berkman, Beltran and Furcal, so for them to gamble on Morneau is not a reach. He is my favorite Twin and I would love to see him shine on a contending team!
  9. St Louis is number 1, they will gamble on an injury plagued proven star. I am convinced they will make a run at him since they lost Berkman.
  10. I'm telling you all now St. Louis will come calling for him!!!!
  11. A good and healthy 2 months and Morneau has value at the trade deadline, mark my words!!! Former MVPs aren't the easiest to obtain and I will bet St. Louis comes a callin, with Washington and Atlanta trying to get their mitts on him too.
  12. I think if they can they should. He is past his prime and I just don't think he is in their future. By far one of my favorite players when he had his run of greatness.
  13. These next two months are huge for the Twins and their future. With the trade deadline approaching I feel the two players with legit value, if healthy, are Morneau and Span. I think Span should be no problem in getting us a good return in prospects with his play and team friendly contract. The tricky one is Morneau. If he can stay healthy and put up some strong numbers in these next 2 months I can see a couple of teams competing for him. To me I think St. Louis is the team to watch. Losing Berkman hurt them and they are not afraid to gamble on a proven player with a fragile body (Berkman-Beltran). We need some talent in the system and these 2 players are the way to get it.

  15. Makes me laugh that Homers are so thick headed and think someone looking to win a ring is going to come here to lose!!!!!!
  16. I think people need to face the fact that there is just not a lot of talent on this team.
  17. We are going to stash a Rule 5 guy, so at least Terry Ryan knows we are rebuilding and can start to do some things with the roster. Right now I think Span is only proven tradeable asset we have. He needs to be traded while his value is high and lets get some young starting pitching for him. I would love to see Francisco and Pavano pitch better, so they would have some value.
  18. I was hoping Revere was going to be our starting CF with Span in RF to start the year, but they never gave it a shot. Those 2 could of covered a lot of ground. To me I think they value Doumit's bat to much, as an OF he just isn't that valuable.
  19. One thing about the MLB Draft is there is no sure thing. You take who you think is the best player and hope it works out. For every Chipper Jones there is a Brien Taylor.
  20. I was a diehard Twins fan in 1987, 91 and last year. I love it when they win and I hate it when they lose. I think the best way to describe it is a 162 game mood swing.
  21. Geez guys 2 games in. Let's give it a chance! Over analyzing a couple of bad losses isn't the way to critique a season. Forty games in and let's see where we are.
  22. I think you are low on Morneau and Casilla and I think Liriano is going to have a huge year. If we are in the hunt great, if not we get a kings ransom for him at the trade deadline.
  23. We lost 99 games last year mainly because our 3 best players (Span, Morneau and Mauer) had a lost season with injuries. If these guys can stay healthy and with the additions we have added, I like our chances. Our hitting stunk last year we need the big 3 in the lineup. I know people forget about Span, but his OBP is huge for the top of the lineup.
  24. I was right on 2 catchers, glad to see Burroughs get a shot. I hope Parmalee's bat stays in the line-up and Doumit is used mainly as just the backup catcher.
  25. I predict Casilla will take over SS and have a big year. He will no longer be Gardenhires whipping boy.
