    I can't remember when the 1st to 7th seeds were only separated by 6 games in the loss column this late in the season. I believe the Twins could end as the 1st or 2nd seed as well as the7th seed and missing the playoffs. The margin for error for all of the teams is extremely narrow. It should be an exciting finish.

    What is the status of ERod? He has been on the MILB IL since 6/7, went on rehab 7/6 and last game was 7/8. Why hasn't he been put on the 60 day IL, with Keirsey added to the 40 man and 26 man rosters. I would rather have a left handed true center fielder against a LH pitcher than pushing Martin into that position. In 100 chances in the outfield Martin has a -5 OAA (Margot has a -4 OAA). For a team that values defense, to me this doesn't make sense.

    Wasn't able to watch, but based on thread comments and GameDay, it was possible the Varland could have given up no runs. The first run was the result of Farmer not making a play per Chief. The 6th pitch to Witt appeared to be the 3rd strike on Gameday. If both of these are made DeJong doesn't come up. This was one of those games the Twins were not destined to win. The Twins lost the third game of each KC series, scoring just 2 runs while giving up 21 runs.

    KC has two wins against the Twins, both Ober starts. 14 ER in 6.1 innings.

    Is Varland going to start tomorrow? Ober could pitch, but KC has his number. Zebbe was great tonight, I was worried about the first inning, as he had trouble in StP, 8 of 12 runs allowed, but he had no problems.

    Against a RH Miranda should be at first, he has an OPS of .988, Santana has an OPS of .693 vs RH pitchers. Miranda has 1 Outs above average at first with very limited chances

    Hope so, maybe Buck will pinch hit for Margot late in the game and be the defensive upgrade.

    On Benintendi's double, I thought the ground rules were if a ball gets lodged anywhere, its a ground rule double. Is this incorrect?

    With the offday on Thursday why not have a BP game on Wednesday with Dobnak as the opener and let him go 2-4 innings. He has been a starter at StP, he may perform better as a starter than a reliever. If he fails, send him back down and call up a fresh arm and the 27th man for Friday.

    If the Twins win the division one of the factors will be the 12-1 record against the WS, Cle is 5-5 vs the WS with 3 games left in Chicago. While this game was nerve racking, it may give the WS some confidence going forward, to play better.

    Duran has been used more in none save situations, but I believe he has performed better than last year through July 31. 2023 2-5, 17 saves 4 BS (1 hold for 2023, don't know if prior to 8/1) 2024 6-5, 15 saves 1 BS, 4 holds I hope he can keep performing as this level. JMHO
