  1. If a front office has that little faith in their scouting department, they need to go find a new scouting department.
  2. I haven't watched Brick yet. Had it in my queue forever, just haven't gotten to it... Heard nothing but good things. Looper was good until the last five minutes when they blew up the plot - making the entire thing completely nonsensical in the process - just for a "shocking" ending that wasn't terribly shocking. I was really into the film until that point.
  3. And the Mets front office takes to the streets in celebration: http://live.cupageant.com.au/images/news/celebrating-the-clown-withi.jpg
  4. Yeah, the gold trim on the hats is a bit much. The smaller logo on the hat doesn't lend well to an outline. Design 101 stuff there. But I think it looks nice on the uniforms.
  5. I have no issues with Stewart being a B right now. He doesn't have any issues that warrant full-blown panic mode but he does have a strikeout rate that's mildly concerning. I'm a bit surprised by the Lewis Thorpe rating. Given his age, velo, K rate, and competition level, I thought he might warrant a higher grade than Stewart.
  6. Decent looking but the alt home throwbacks are still nicer.
  7. Tables cannot be pasted into the blogs at this point. I've tried to get the BBCode working on them multiple times but for some reason, it just won't take. I haven't had time to sit down and sort it out properly.
  8. Did Molitor make a statement about Santana? How'd I miss that?
  9. It's not really schlocky enough for me. The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and The Empire Strikes Back are cornball names. It's one of Star Wars' charms, as it *should* be a throwback to 1950s serialized action television. Eh, then again it might grow on me in time.
  10. Well, the movie received a name today: Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens
  11. On the River Kwai.
  12. I hope Molitor reads that article and says "Thank the lord I'm not a football coach." Zimmer has had a rough go of it this year. So many things went wrong, so many things that were completely out of his control. I hope he turns the Vikings into a respectable franchise again, both on and off the field. I think he can do it but it will take time.
  13. I think Anderson should get a lot of credit for Hughes. And a lot of opposite credit for most of the other starters over the past five years.
  14. I don't feel too bad for Renteria, as the man is still collecting a paycheck. An ugly situation for sure but I can't get too upset about it.
  15. I was going to make one of these for the wife but the model from which they're based shot through the roof on eBay within days of the movie releasing. It might be the greatest thing ever created. Screw you, Jonas Salk. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmDiKAncBwQ
  16. Upon re-watching Winter Soldier, I think it's probably the best Marvel movie, though I still might prefer The Avengers because Whedon did such a great job breathing life into those characters while staying true to their comic roots.
  17. If the Twins are going after another starting pitcher, they need to aim higher than that. There is little gain and a lot of possible detriment to shoving guys like Alex Meyer, Trevor May, and Jose Berrios out of the rotation just to add another Ricky Nolasco clone and finish the season with 82 wins instead of 79. I'd either go big and try to sign a borderline elite pitcher or I'd go for an intriguing arm with issues like Brett Anderson.
  18. I expect Hughes to regress a bit but remain a very good pitcher. I don't know if he can maintain a level comparable to Cliff Lee in his late 20s and early 30s but that'd be fantastic were it to happen.
  19. At this point, Joe should start shouting "MAUER CHEV" repeatedly every time a mic is in his face. It'd be an improvement over his current strategy. I don't doubt his fire, commitment, or anything about him as a person but damn, he's kinda daft in the public relations department.
  20. I heard they were planning on repurposing some Bridge on the River Kwai footage for that purpose. Budgets are tight.
  21. I know who's on the field and I still want to see names on the jerseys. It's just logical.
  22. I think he will be if only because his Star Trek movies were basically Star Wars movies that featured the Enterprise.
  23. After the past four years, I consider that a plus.
  24. Wrigley is undergoing a massive retrofitting this season. Yeah, it won't be as nice as TF but ultimately, I think home stadium has as much to do with a manager's decision as your office cafeteria. Sure, it's nice to have but ultimately, it's way down the list on which job you take.
