  2. I'm still frightened by his lack of missed bats. He hasn't had this problem since 2011.
  3. I don't think the Padres are in a hurry to deal him, either (I've watched several Padres games this season for some reason), which is why I'm curious if they'd laugh Ryan out of the room at that offer. It's a decent offer but I'm not sure San Diego is in a hurry to move Norris. The value difference in trade between trading him now and trading him in November is almost nil. Hell, the value between trading him now and trading him next July is almost nil. Baseball GMs valuate control and contracts very oddly.
  4. Put Boyer in there. Even he can't ruin a five run lead and it might convince management to kick his ass out the door if he comes close to doing it.
  5. Given the options, I may have left Santana in from last night.
  6. Interesting. I'd love to see that clip if you know where it can be found.
  7. "You don't know what result you'll get from Suzuki but you know that you'll get a real, real tough at-bat ever-" *couldn't hear the rest because Brock is pounding his face into the desk violently*
  8. But apparently every opposing pitcher he faces is Delilah. Oh snap. Also, I'm a little drunk.
  9. Don't apologize. It only gives the jackals license to complain about more things.
  10. How are Twins fans toward new fans from outside the area like myself? We're Minnesotans. We'll be superficially nice, a bit standoff-ish, and offer you hotdish if you stick around long enough. Which players tend to be the fan favorites and top up and comers? You've missed a few of the best players. Jose Berrios is the bee's knees. Expect to see Byron Buxton on a rehab stint and don't miss watching him play. Seriously. It's like watching some creation out of a SkyNet lab. Do Twins fans tend to follow the Red Wings at all? Most don't. Here at Twins Daily, there are some posters who can tell you where the players in Rochester ate that day. Are there any books you all would recommend to get an indepth look at the Twins history? Yes. http://www.amazon.com/Minnesota-Twins-Baseball-Hardball-History/dp/1626193819 Who are the players to watch on the Wings that could make the jump to majors? A few guys that stuck out to me at the Wings games I have attended were Oswaldo Arcia, Danny Ortiz, Jorge Polanco, and Michael Tonkin. Arcia is a beast but he'll be back in Minnesota soon. Polanco had a cup of coffee, will be back at some point. Like I said earlier, watch Berrios pitch before he's gone and keep an eye out for Buxton's rehab stint. Finally, I don't want to seem like I'm jumping on the bandwagon. As a Buffalo Bills and Sabres fan I can assure you I will stick with the team through the good times and bad. We're Minnesotans. We don't care about bandwagons. We care about hotdish.
  11. Okay, I suspected that everyone would say Norris is worth less. Next open question to the board: what would you give for Derek Norris? I'd start the conversation with Kepler, Gonsalves, plus a 20-30 guy. Do the Padres laugh you out of the room?
  12. I... actually agree with every word of this post. Well done on all counts.
  13. God, that Sano kid sucks at beisbol. Trade him.
  14. Yikes, I didn't realize Norris's bat was down so far this year. Anyone have a line on why he stopped walking this season?
  15. Question for the board at large: Would you give a similar package for Norris that you'd offer for Tulo? Obviously he's not as good but he's younger and A LOT cheaper.
  16. I love the deadline for all the reasons youn just listed.
  17. The thing is that he didn't struggle that badly (97 OPS+) and only received 65 PAs. 25 of those PAs came against lefties. That's a bit more than normal but not a huge portion.
  18. The Twins are in a lull period. They graduated 7-8 top 100 prospects in a 30 month period. That's... A lot. It'll be some time before the likes of Gordon, Gonsalves, Thorpe, etc gain enough traction to make the farm look good again. The org probably won't return to elite status but it will improve, I think.
  19. I know you're joking but after working as a sysadmin for a few years, it's kinda terrifying how easy it is to crack the typical user's password. No, it's not okay to use your pet's name as your banking password, folks. Also not okay to use your Twitter password as your E-Trade account password, either.
  20. "For the most part, a lead heading into 8th inning for the New York Yankees is about as secure as Anthony LaPanta’s hair in a wind storm." Parker, you rarely let me down.
  21. I often use obscure song lyrics. Easy to remember, can get a 20+ character password that you'll never forget. I also tier my passwords. I use a single password for hundreds of sites. If I don't care whether that site gets hacked, I use that tier 4 password. If I care a little, I use a more complicated tier 3 password. If I care a lot, a very complex tier 2 password. If it'd be disastrous to get hacked, an incredibly complex tier 1 password. I only use that last one in 3-4 places (banking, investments, etc).
