  1. It's a 162 game season with a pretty deep roster. I welcome any and all rest Baldelli can give his regulars throughout the year. That has actually been a new tactic by the front office; the players get more mornings off, they're not supposed to take as much BP and not drill as often, etc. It's a long season that beats the hell out of these players. Any time you can reduce the risk of them tiring and/or getting injured in moments that don't matter to the W-L record, take it.
  2. Cruz is having a pretty garbage game, which is a funny thing to say when the team is winning 9-1.
  3. Meh. He's not exactly A-Rod.
  4. April 19th, 2010. Ft Myers Miracle vs. Charlotte Stone Crabs.
  5. If anything, the opposite is true. He's dealing but he's valuable going forward. Meanwhile, the bullpen has barely worked in a week and the team has an off day tomorrow.
  6. If you know what you're getting into, you know full well that Minnesota sports teams don't collapse in the regular season. That wouldn't be a real gut punch, just a soft boot to the shin. Go big or go home. Epic playoff failure or don't make the playoffs. There is no third option.
  7. This team is good. They're not this good, but they're good. This lineup is too deep and there are enough pleasant surprises on the pitching staff to confidently predict nothing less than .500 ball from here on out, which puts them pretty close to 90 wins. In all likelihood, this run will push them north of 90 wins when all is said and done.
  8. I wasn't trying to pick on you, just pointing out how memory and perception can lead us down incorrect paths. It's a human condition, not something isolated to you.
  9. Damn, Gonzalez. Four feet from yet another two run homer.
  10. Can the Twins decline to bat for the rest of the game so their flight home can leave two hours earlier?
  11. This is a good example of how perception betrays reality. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/gl.fcgi?id=cruzne02&t=b&year=2019 Cruz has six one-hit games.
  12. Good thing they pulled the infield in on that pitch.
  13. I doubt it. It appears he was injured in May and June but a big reason his IP was so low in 2018 was because he was so bad that the Rangers demoted him to the bullpen.
  14. This is rather unfair to the other team.
  15. Getaway night games are a real dick move.
  16. It was predictable that five years passed, the heroes lost, and the second act became a heist film weaving together 20 other movies? Sure, you can argue the final act was predictable but it's also what audiences wanted after 21 films of leading up to this point. But I do not understand how you can say the first two hours of the film were predictable. I thought the writers did a fantastic job of not being predictable in a film that could have easily phoned it in and still made a billion and a half dollars.
  17. Garver is a beast. With his improved defense (approaching mediocrity), he could be one hell of a catcher going forward.
  18. Somehow Sanchez made it through seven. Kinda impressive given how much he was knocked around the first inning.
  19. It’s not a Twins game without a catcher home run.
  20. That’d be my focus as well. The team may need a starter as the season progresses but it’s not a pressing need today. The bullpen, on the other hand...
  21. Unfortunately, it only seems to move the other direction.
