Well, I didn't see this coming. The Twins have a chance to sweep one of the best teams in baseball.

I think it's great. Maybe not something I want every night, or even every other night, but twice a month would be great.

Will this site burn to the ground if they trade Ryan?

Image courtesy of © Matt Krohn-Imagn Images There is no development the Twins would have welcomed less Wednesday night than a potential injury problem for All-Star center fielder Byron Buxton. He's been the linchpin of an already wobbly lineup and the heartbeat of the team all season, and he's set to represent the American League in both the Home Run Derby and the All-Star Game next week in his native Georgia. Alas, an errant Cade Horton fastball left Buxton's hand hurting, and he was removed when his spot in the order came back around in the second. Buxton did stay in to run the bases, stealing one and scoring on a Ryan Jeffers single. He played defense in the top of the second, making a fine catch on a long drive by Pete Crow-Armstrong. However, it surprised no one when he was lifted at the next opportunity. We'll share more updates here when the Twins make them available, including any comments from manager Rocco Baldelli (or Buxton himself) postgame. The good news: the Twins did jump out to a quick 2-0 lead on the NL Central-leading Cubs, for the second night in a row, and they extended that lead in the second via a skyscraping Matt Wallner home run. UPDATE: The Twins announced that Buxton left the game with a left hand contusion. That's what we'd hear almost regardless of severity, at this stage, so expect further discussion and questions about X-rays after the game. For now, though, it's a relief not to immediately hear of a break. If Buxton just needs time for the swelling on the hand to come down, he could still participate in All-Star festivities, or even play this weekend against Pittsburgh. POSTGAME: Manager Rocco Baldelli said it looks as though Buxton has avoided the worst possible damage. "Buck looks like he'll be ok, he had some imaging done and it looks pretty good," Baldelli said. Indeed, X-rays on the hand were negative. Baldelli did say, however, that his star slugger is "pretty sore". And upon second thought, I somehow forgot Paul Molitor. Say what you will about Baldelli, but he doesn't murder his best bullpen arms in May. I really like Paul Molitor, but his bullpen management was terrible. It's the same tendencies Pat Murphy in Milwaukee has, though Molitor cranked it to 11.

Not the way that played out. I literally edited dozens of articles on the subject as Sox writers agonized over it. All parties contributed to the problem and personally, I absolutely would not want Breslow anywhere near my team. Smart guy, doesn’t seem to have a a lick of knowledge how to manage people.

Part of the reason why I hate trying to force five bullpen innings. Odds are at least one of them will be shaky. While statistically every reliever is better than SWR the third time through the order, you’re relying on five guys to all have their **** together on the same night. Odds aren’t great that will be the case.

There was a lot of conflict from several angles. Devers has become a problem, it seems, but management bears a lot of responsibility for how that played out. Raffy didn’t just become an ******* overnight, Breslow and Cora contributed heavily to that problem.

Good lord man, do you think they traded Raffy because things were so awesome?

Not nearly to the extent where the dissent went to such a level the team traded their $300m player and their best hitter WHILE TRYING TO COMPETE.

Not if you followed the Red Sox this season, as I have. When Cora won his World Series all those years ago, HE LITERALLY MANAGED THE HIGHEST PAYROLL IN BASEBALL.

This conversation started with me saying Rocco has never lost a clubhouse as Cora did this season. That’s literally how Rocco is better.

Minus their best hitter, who had to be ****ing traded because of mismanagement from pretty much the entire org.

In my watching lifetime, maybe, but the Twins had some real ****** managers in the 70s and early 80s.

Rocco has never had a clubhouse fall apart as Alex Cora did this season. That’s one example.

I lean that direction. Tonight’s quick hook just feels stupid, and I’m not one to say that kind of thing often.

The process of finding videographers is absolutely effing agonizing.

This is going to be a tough series, and it's starting out with a really suboptimal pitching matchup for the Twins.

Over time, what was once a platform that contained three elements (news, forums, blogs) has slowly grown to have a dozen or more aspects to it. I've never really sat down to better lay out the site options in menus and navigation. Last week, I completely restructured the hamburger menu (top right, three horizontal bars). In it, I've split the resources into four major groups: team, minor leagues, draft, and history. From each of those options, there is a submenu that will take you to various aspects of the site that might be buried. Additionally, I reworked the forum index navigation (main forum page, near the top) and also split it into four distinct groups: team, minor leagues, draft, and interactive. If you have ways to improve the navigation of the site, please share it here! This is just a starting point, I'm very open to changing things around.
