Minor League Playoff Roster Question

Simply put, my question is, who can play for which teams?

 

More specifically, is it allowable for Sano (and Rosario) to be "demoted" to Ft Myers for their playoffs, since New Britain isn't going to be making the playoffs.

 

If legal, is that considered poor form (within Minor league baseball)?

That wouldn't be viewed as an insult to the players would it?

 

They both logged plenty of games at FTM this year and are a big reason why they are in the playoffs

From my understanding with talking to the some of the Miracle brass is yes, Sano and Rosario can be "demoted" and made available for the playoffs but that it would considered poor baseball

I get that, but they did spend half their season there. They belong in the Ft Myers playoffs more than Parmelee belongs in the Rochester playoffs (If they make it)

very fair questions, especially since New Britain will be done on Labor Day and playing for Ft. Myers would give them 3-110 more games. But, it isn't exactly in good taste. That said, AJ Pettersen was sent down to solidify the infield defense for the Miracle. Matt Summers came back down and will be the Miracles' top starter.

I don't know the answer to this question and if Fort Myers brass says it can be done, it can be done. Still, I was under the impression that there were rules to cover that sort of thing. It seems to me that a player at a higher level can't be demoted after his season ends to play in the playoffs at a lower level. Apparently, I am wrong about that, even though I sort of remember reading that, somewhere, years ago. Hopefully, if there are some sort of rules about that sort of thing, someone will find them and let us know.

The Twins have a nice dilemma here as far as Rosario and Sano are concerned: They can be promoted to AAA and make Rochester's post-season as well...

 

And this is not considered bad taste...
