What has been worse for longest: The Mets outfield or the Twins middle infield?

What is irritating about these trades is that we dealt players from our active roster (or would have been had they not been injured). The extreme majority of trades between contenders and non-contenders is veteran for prospect and it always annoyed me that we had to give up an all-star from the previous season in order to get a pitcher.

 

The same could be said for when we traded Kielty for Stewart. It worked out well for us but I can't think of another team that would have dealt a player on their active roster instead of a prospect.

The Lawton trade made me sad. The outfield could no longer be called the Soul Patrol with Buck in RF. At least we still had the League of Nations INF.
