exeoud Verified Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Attababe Taj stuff so good that you can pitch like crap and still only give up 1 run in 3 innings Richie the Rally Goat 1
bunsen82 Verified Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 If he can just get a few more in the zone especially strike 1, then those pitches just off the plate are almost unhittable. He is so close. Biggest thing is he just keeps fighting through. I do think the long inning messed him up a bit. Patzky 1
Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Would love to see Keaschall get back to doing just that.

Early on, Taj is looking like he is in the last stage in transitioning to a pitcher vs a thrower. A thrower has good stuff. A pitcher trusts his stuff. I think if he trusts his stuff, his efficiency will improve. bunsen82 1

Rocco never had these guys playing above expectations like this other than 2019, Shelton got the Pirates off to some hot starts too but obviously being the Pirates they faltered down the stretch. This team has a lot more talent than any of those Pirates teams though, hoping they can keep it up. At least if we lose let's score a lot of runs Patzky 1

At least if we lose let's score a lot of runs That 2019 team was always used as proof to show that Rocco knew what he was doing. Here's a thought, Shelton was the bench coach for the 2019 team. What if it was Shelton that really motivated the team as the bench coach? Shelton was also a holdover from Molitor's staff. I'm not suggesting that Shelton is the answer to all of our questions. It does seem early on that the swings aren't nearly as big as they have been in the last couple of years. Sure, there was the 13 game winning streaks, but there were long stretches of losing in between those streaks. SD happy 1

The depth is pretty thin in the infield and bullpen, and already being tested in the rotation. C-Gangster 1

Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 89 pitches but could be much less if he wasn't on a three ball count all day
Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Still throwing almost 97 on 100 pitches though, my goodness bunsen82 and Richie the Rally Goat 2

bunsen82 Verified Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 And he is eligible for the win. For not having the control for much of the day, that was a gutty performance. He was on the precipice of blowing up. Hope he regains the control a bit more otherwise if he continues to live in the danger zone sooner or later he is going to get rocked. AceWrigley Verified Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Bradley not so sharp this game but limits the damage and holds them to one run allowed. 106 pitches today, definitely been a workhorse so far this season. Western SD Fan, bunsen82, MGX and 2 others 5

AceWrigley Verified Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 I think Clemens ought to limit his swings to strikes.
HarmonK03 Verified Member Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Can we end the Outman experience please. He is totally lost at the plate and has no business being on a major league roster.
