William Malone Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 5, 2025 Posted July 5, 2025 James Richard Beresford was born on January 19, 1989 in Australia. The Minnesota Twins signed him as an international free agent in 2007. He reached Triple-A in 2013, and was an International League All-Star in 2015. Beresford was promoted to the Twins as a September call-up in 2016 at the age of 27. He played ten games for the Twins that month, going 5-for-22 (.227) with one walk and one sacrifice bunt in 24 plate appearances. Beresford did not score or drive in any runs. He started games at both corner infield spots, and played one inning at second base. Minnesota removed him from the 40-man roster during the off-season. His professional career ended a year later after playing professionally in his home country of Australia. View full player
