chopper0080 Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Over the past couple years, we Twins fans have not had a ton to look forward to. Today, that day has changed. I am not championing miracle playoff run or stating we are favorites for the 2014 season. What I am saying is that our patience is soon to be rewarded. 1: As of the end of next week, Oswaldo Arcia, Kyle Gibson and Aaron Hicks (or as I call them "Phase 1") will all be on the Twins roster. It has been many years since we Twins fans have been able to see prospects of this calibre ascend to the major league level. It is exciting. 2: Miguel Sano and Eddie Rosario are at AA, and Byron Buxton is at Hi-A. Maybe this is a stretch, but having Buxton, Sano, Rosario, May and Meyer (my personal "Phase2") at AA (Buxton at Hi A) is pretty exciting and encouraging. This obviously doesn't forecast major league success in any way, but it is nice to see this amount of quality prospects knocking at the door. 3: The fact that we could have a 3rd wave of impact prospects developing as well is also always nice. 4: Trade deadline approaches. We have some decent players who could be available in Correia, Perkins, Willingham, Morneau, Burton and Doumit. If they get traded, great, now we have upgraded our system even further. If not, we have at least marginal talent on our roster to transition our prospects behind. Not trying to be a board cheerleader with this post, but I am truly excited for the first time in years about my Twins. Win Twins, Win.
Otwins Verified Member Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Another positive is that the twins have the 4th highest spending allotment for the international signings. They begin July 2nd. Supposedly it is a deep year. Chance for a few more prospects here. It does seem like the Twins are headed in the right direction.
