The Minnesota Players Project continues to grow, as we're now well over 50 players in the database. Let's look at some of the newest additions.

What is the Players Project? It's a community-driven, wiki-style project that focuses on Twins players of all stripes. It's open to all Twins Daily users and we've had contributions for current players, past players, and players who never even made the major leagues but played in the Twins farm system. The project is open to all Twins Daily users so create your favorite player today!

We saw several more players added to The Minnesota Twins Players Project this week, including our first Hall of Famer. Let's take a look at the top entries of the past week.

1. Rod Carew
First off, thanks to @Greglw3 for adding our first Cooperstown player, Rod Carew. He spent considerable time writing up a lengthy bio and highlighted some of the greatest moments of Carew's tenure in Minnesota. Carew is the only top-ten WAR leader currently added to the project so if someone out there wants to take a shot at Puckett, Killebrew, or Santana, the door is wide open to do so!

2. Tyler Jay
An old friend made his major league debut this week. Former first-round pick of the Twins, Tyler Jay, appeared for the New York Mets. It has been a bumpy road for Jay since he was drafted early in the first round of the 2015 MLB Draft. Now 29 years old, Jay has made two successful appearances with the Mets, pitching 4.0 innings with a 2.25 ERA.

3. Shane Mack
Our third entry was by yours truly and he's one of my favorite Twins players, not only due to performance but because of the bizarre twists his career took time and time again. Shane Mack was a player before his time and while he accrued nearly 20 wins by Baseball-Reference, he didn't break out until his age-26 season and then lost more than two prime seasons to the MLB strike and playing in Japan.

The Minnesota Twins Players Project is open to all Twins Daily users. If you're a Twins history buff or just want to dive into the background of your favorite player, come on board!
