In what is now a rare occurrence, the Twins beat the Yankees behind the offensive and defensive contributions of centerfielder Darrell Brown (soon to play Wally Pipp to Kirby Puckett's Lou Gehrig), per this WCCO Noon Report from the following day. New acquisition Mike Smithson improves to 2-0 while Ron Davis nails down the save.
