I love the Twins, but it really hard to watch them lately, even when they win. Cleveland won something like 20 games in a row over 2 years against the Tigers, but they play us like they’re in ‘27 Yankees or something.

As do the royals

Tigers throwing a no hitter through 3 innings isn't as great as it seems against this lineup. The Tigers could probably throw their pitching coach into the mix and get the same result. I think the average of today's Rocco constructed lineup is averaging .210 or so.  Ugly.

This didn't age well thankfully! Reverse phsycology always works.

Tigers pitching coach really knows about Twins hitters.

I never thought much of Rick Anderson’s approach to pitching. If it wasn’t for Gardenhire he wouldn’t work in the majors.

Good job of damage control by Hill. I would be very careful next inning as he will get into the third time around for the Tigers lineup

His second, I think. Yesterday or so they said on the broadcast that he had played in 39 of 40 games.

I'm kind of fascinated at Rocco's use the #6 spot as the weak one in the lineup. 

 

Not fascinated enough to research why, but I def see a pattern.

Love it. While I don't love the universal DH, it's a huge benefit for the Twins. (Still surprised he didn't play a single OF inning last year in interleague.)

 

And it likely means his wrist is 100% this year.

Yeah, the lineup worries me. I'd rather Rocco start a more normal lineup and get those other guys some PT in games we are blowing people out in, or in games the twins are getting blown out in. Or start one dude here and there but to put all those guys in on the same day seems like too much. Hopefully they can beat up on mize today

 

Getting everyone healthy for the post-season is more important than winning an extra game or two. Heck, we could get the #4 seed and have to play the Yankees.
