I'm talking about three years so far......not one year. Hence, "how many years" was in the question. If teams lock up the really good players, you better be willing to trade minor leaguers, because no team is built fully from within....

 

Well who did you want last year? They went after both Darvish and Ohtani even though going after Ohtani was beyond embarrassing. The smart move would have been JD Martinez, but he was just as affordable, so it's not like the Twins (or any of the other stupid teams) passed because of the money.

 

No team is fully built from within, but most of them are mainly built from within, but what's that got to do with the free agency gripe? When this team gets to where Terry Ryan's teams of the early 2000's was, they better be trading for upper caliber help. Hopefully that's this July or thereabouts.
