Wow, heck of an inning there. Big hits from Polanco and Dozier, now they've got a 4-1 on Porcello. The lineup has been noticeably better with Polanco in it.

I don’t mind a guy trying that as long as

1) he’s good at it

2) he’s kinda fast

3) he didn’t just hit a HR off the pitcher

 

He was trying to beat the shift and just laid down a crappy bunt.  He realized he was getting way too close to that Mendoza Line.

Levine's talking on the radio broadcast right now.  Interesting stuff.  Sounds appropriately contrite about how things went down.

 

Falvey said roughly the same thing on the TV side.  At least they got their stories straight.

The interview reminded me of the story MacPhail told about when he went to Pohlad and told Mr. Pohlad he wanted to release Mickey Hatcher and replace him with Dan Gladden. And Pohlad responded that it wasn't going to go over well with his wife, because his wife really liked Hatcher.

Why are you watching NESN?

It’s the only feed I get with my MLB Extra Innings package. Have the sound off and am listening to ‘CCO even though the delay is behind the visual.

Nice interview with Levine. Or was it Falvey? Anyway, nothing like going on the air and facing the music about trading away a popular player.

Listening to Falvey on the radio. It’s pretty straight forward. He talked about how Esco finding out and he said it wasn’t the way they wanted that to happen and sorry it happened that way, but somehow it got leaked and media reported it before anyone could talk to him. One of the reason they are out in Boston now, to address the team and be there for the team, how they are family and want to make sure they are there addressing questions, etc. So, if that’s important, to connect with the team, after the team’s most popular player is traded away, why is Molitor not there. Mollie’s priority is being at the HoF ceremony over the team.

I see.... I use MLB.tv and use a DNS service to hide my location so I don't get blacked out of about a half dozen teams, including the Twins.

I’m not in a black out area ... it’s just the feed that’s carried tonight. Typically it’s the home team feed with the Extra Innings package on Comcast. Occasionally they have both, but not too often.

Thanks, Carole. I turned it on near the end of comments about "Joe," which I assumed to be Mauer. What was the gist of that question and response?

I guess I would rather see Sano take a couple borderline strikes than swing and miss at pitches he has no chance of hitting.

Yeah, I thought that last strike was a borderline call. Not much a hitter can do with a pitch out there like that.

On the upside, Escobar was traded to a contending team. And, it seemed that Falvine hinted they were going to make a run at resigning Escobar after the season is over.

Bored with the Jake Cave experiment in Center Field can end. DONT care if Buxton not ready, HE needs to come back. Time to give these at bact back to Buxton. Cave is a back up not a starter. Second weekend in a row he made bad play in center.

What is this bad play he made?
