sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 In the beginning there was TwinsDaily. But the moderators were bored. So Chief said "Let there be Game Thread" and there was a game thread. And it was Good. Taildragger8791 Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Soooo....uhhhhh...how's that Hughes guy looking for #3 pitcher?
70charger Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Top of 2 and we're already down 4-0? What the hell, man?
James Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 I see that the Twins sent their "A" squad to support Mr. Hughes. It is rather what a 3 hours bus ride will do to a spring training lineup.
70charger Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Oh at least Danny Santana is batting n...and he struck out.
70charger Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 "I don't believe I've seen the start of a game where anybody's been hit harder than this." <- An actual quote from Nolan freakin' Ryan, who is in the announcers' booth right now. Yikes.
Blake Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 I think there may be two open spots in the rotation.
70charger Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 My feed froze. Is this mlb.tv's way of performing a mercy killing?

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Twins PR machine (aka beat writers) after the game: Other than all the hits, the manager and Hughes thought things went well. He made all his pitches, and he was working on things. edit:He really settled down after the rough stretch. I loved how he battled and recovered.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 We score a run! And there was much rejoicing.
Blake Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 We score a run!And there was much rejoicing.I think you're confusing "rejoicing" with "mockery."

He made all his pitches, and he was working on things. edit:He really settled down after the rough stretch. I loved how he battled and recovered. He is still really working on his change up... And the inside joke with New York beat reporters since 2010 strikes again
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 I think you're confusing "rejoicing" with "mockery."It is possible. I confuse a lot, both things and people. Makes for a more interesting life.
Blake Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Hughes was knocked out of a Spring Training game. I believe that's the first time I've seen that happen. Interesting.
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Hughes was knocked out of a Spring Training game. I believe that's the first time I've seen that happen. Interesting. I do not think that word means what you think it means...
Blake Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 I do not think that word means what you think it means...Always the possibility. I have the video feed but no sound. I thought Hughes went 4 innings last time, which is why I thought he got knocked out of the game after 2. Or, was he injured? Reach his pitch limit?

Blake Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Actually, I meant "interesting"....This is a family friendly site, therefore, I thought a subdued comment might convey just a tad bit of ire.
Jham Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Haven't followed at all. Looked at the box score. Hughes must have really been working on that change up again.

Blake Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 The hitters were certainly working his changeup...And don't forget framing!!

The local football team played great! If you eliminate the 90 yard touchdown pass, and 85 yard touchdown run, and the 73 yard interception return touchdown, which were clearly fluke plays, they had a real chance of winning the game

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 22, 2017 Posted March 22, 2017 Robin ventura begs to differ.Maybe Nolan Ryan didn't see that one.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 22, 2017 Author Posted March 22, 2017 Final score 8-4 them. We caught up a wee bit. Amoral victory. Or something.
Jham Verified Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Maybe Nolan Ryan didn't see that one.Or he doesn't remember it or much else from that night...
David HK Verified Member Posted March 23, 2017 Posted March 23, 2017 Oh, that was PHIL Hughes? Crikey! I thought for a sec that Luke Hughes had made a return, this time as a "pitcher." That changeup got banged like a fair dinkum dunny door in a hoi wind, mate.
